Hi. In the past I've discussed a lot of negative emotions i was feeling about myself, on life, etc. One piece of advice given was that while i felt negative and worthless that employment will help remove some of the idol and negative thought pattern. Well, I have finally gained employment after a few yrs and while i'm okay with the work itself after the 1st three weeks, my mode hasn't changed.

In fact a whole different set of negative thoughts have crepted in like "did i take the job as a form of self punishment, is this all I can do now meaning I've wasted all of my education, and must I continously spend all my money earned on bills, food, etc in order to prevent having available funding in case i more seriously thought about self harm?

For those that haven't read previous posts, yes i've seen therapists/shrinks before and hospitalized in past (depression, ptsd, schizoid, social anxiety) and yes has issues of self identity (i'm not gay) and not christian in christian region

Every time you have a negative thought or emotion, put a dollar in an envelope. Although this is on the "Honor System", I think it will get you in the habit of being more positive about yourself and your situation.

Buy a few gifts and visit a children's hospital, where you will meet little kids who have cancer and other deadly diseases. This will remind you that no matter how bad off you think you are, there are always many others who are worse off.

How about try some exercising. Set a reasonable goal. This gives you a motivation and see that you can follow through on something. Not only that, exercising produces "happy hormone", and a phyiscally fit person generally feel better about him/herself.

Negative feelings are normal, just do not let them overwhelm you. Practice will power. If you catch yourself stuck in a loop of negativism, tell yourself to snap out of it. Of course this is easier said then done, but with practice you get better at it. "Will Power" is a very powerful thing.

try to find someone positive to help you out

its hard to not be negative sometimes

but there has to be something positive in your life that you can focus on
