PS: Your lucky the only dance my school has is prom and I'm a 10th grader.

He might have danced once you weren't close, yet fears he's a bad dancer. He could be a sprint shy or actual embarrassed. Or, because of the fact which you're in basic terms acquaintances, is it obtainable he likes somebody and did no longer decide to slow dance (a dance made for couples) with yet another woman?
