This depends on where you are moving to in Canada, for example the West Coast (B.C, Vancouver) gets far more rain than any other Province and Nunavut gets more snow and cold.... I suggest you go to this site and read the specific weather information for each province... http://www.climate.weatheroffice.ec.gc.ca/climate_normals/index_e.html
Just choose the province and then a city and it will show you the average rainfall, temps, snow etc.

I can however tell you the average weather for my location, Norhtern Ontario, Canada (which is very different than Southern Ontario) You can play outside every month of the year as long as you are appropriately dressed for the weather, in winter it does get very cold and I get an average snowfall of 2-4 feet and the temperature averages -15 to -30 C in the winter and sometimes even colder. We get our worst weather in the winter, blizzards, Ice storms, bitter cold snaps but not all that often. Spring, summer and fall all have fairly predictable weather and we dont get tornados or other really dangerous weather just normal thunderstorms and wind storms and an adequate amount of rain.. no floods here! The average summer temp is about 20 to 35C with cooler nights. Fall is considerably cooler with average temps of 15 to 1C and by October and November it is usually dropping to -2 to -5C quite often and it is not uncommon to get the first snowfall near the end of November. You can usually go outside and have alot of fun all year round, I actually find winter to be more fun than summer because there is so much more to do.. Snowmobiling, Skiing, Snoeshoeing, Ice fishing, Skating(hockey!), Tobogganing, Snowball fights, building snow forts and snowmen etc winter is very cold but very fun and you can go out as long as you are properly dressed.. insulated boots, touque or belleclava, mittens overtop of gloves(nver just gloves!), snowpants, winter coat, sweaters, longjohns, scarf, wool socks... its all about the layers!! There are some days here up in Northern Ontario when you cant go outside because of extreme cold weather but generally it doesnt last long. All in all though our weather is pretty good here where I live and we never have crazy summer weather, its just winter when you get a little restricted because of the weather. We get about 6 months of winter, 2 mos fall, 2 mos spring 2 mons summer.... lol I like the weather but winter can seem VERY long sometimes.... However there are other places in Canada that get far milder winters and only 500miles south of me, the winters are very mild and usually much shorter than where I live... however thier summers are much hotter and they get far more dangerous tornado weather in the summer. It all depends what kind of weather you prefer, we have it all here in Canada just do a little research and find the area suited to the weather you enjoy!!

Argggghhhhhh!
I truly wish people would look at a map before the submit questions like this. Canada is a VERY large country. It is, in fact, the second largest country in the world. Yes, it is larger than the United States. It stretches from the Atlantic to the Pacific to the North Sea. It includes almost every climate zone you can think of.
Near Osoyoos, in B.C., there is a desert. The official definition of a desert is less than 9 inches of annual rainfall. So that part of the country is very wet. Ocean Falls, on the west coast, gets over 200 inches of rain a year. Both of those places are in B.C. Other areas, such as the prairie provinces, get up to 20 inches of rain a year. These are the areas where we grow that wonderful Canadian wheat and other grains.
On the east coast, the weather is normally cooler (that's because the Atlantic Ocean is cooler than the Pacific Ocean) and they get a bit more rainfall on average.
In Northern Canada it can get very warm in the summer and have 24 hours of sunlight per day. In winter it gets very cold and there are some days when there is no sunlight.
Summer on the West Coast begins about April and extends through to November. But the winter is so mild that people continue their outdoor activities year round. There are always people out playing tennis, golfing, running or boating. If they are skiers, there are excellent ski hills anywhere from half an hour to a three hour drive away. The ski season is from, roughly, December to April.
In Manitoba, the weather is so cold in the winter that they have built a huge underground mall, so people don't have to be exposed to the freezing weather. It's quite spectacular!
So what you can do, and at which time of year, really depends on where you choose to live.

I live in Ontario Canada and our weather is pretty decent most of the time. We don't get much rain. Mind you we get enough. It is usually warm up until January nowadays and gets mild again in April. It is alot milder than it ever was when I was a kid. You can play with your kids 12 months out of the year. LOL You can play in the snow you know, that why they invented snowsuits, boots, hats and mittens.

Every place in Canada, except possibly some in the far north, will have what you require in summer weather. You can go to the weather network and check weather all over Canada, if you want to keep an eye on weather through the seasons. Central Canada, if you mean the prairie provinces like Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta, can be extremely cold in winter.
