'you mush be the change you wish to see in the world' - Mahatma Gandhi

Most places are relatively problem free when they dont have people. The critters, plants and rocks do fairly well without the large-scale input of human beings. The place therefore is not the essential problem.

You cant change another persons heart, its out of human power. The most passionate father doesnt have the power to force his daughter not to love a jerk. The most "better" person doesnt have the power to change another persons heart, or even the understanding of how the other persons heart works.

Not being able to understand the heart, or change it, I think better people arent going to make a direct impact.

I think both of your options are based on false premises about human function. The only person that understands a human heart is God himself, the bible says so. The only person that actually has the power to change a human heart intentionally and for the better, is also God.

I think the world needs God. The only way to access God is prayer, so I think the world needs people who will pray, and not just that. Those people need two visions, a clear vision of God and his heart and a clear vision of the world. That, plus time, opportunity, and practice should apply the most direct effective solution (God) in the most meaningful way (his way) to the most problematic, and key areas of the problems of the world.

The world, environmentally speaking, is fine as is and nothing needs to be changed. Its just that society and governments have not developed sufficient strategies to cope with mankind yet in a loving, peaceful and caring way.

What I mean is.....people need a global conformity to an ideal, believing in a God/Allah doesnt help that much, so far, because their are so many different religions that just adds to the chaos. I dont mean the end to different cultures, as they add so much wisdom and variety to the mix. I don mean end to religion/spirituality either as it gives a great many people hope to and relief of anxiety to offload their feelings to something intangible.

All of mankind needs to put the health, emotional wellbeing of children first. To see an end to abuse, war, neglect and hunger.

Basically we need a plan worldwide;

* Free medical aid/treatments/surgery/medicine - except for cosmetic surgery of course
* Basic housing
* Free education at ALL levels
* Free or low cost meals and MILK at ALL schools (so that parents will be assured that children get fed one decent meal per day even if they cannot afford it)
* Free and mandatory lessons in parenting skills of both parents during pregnancy
* Basic unswappable food tickets so that any family can be assured of sustenance even if they cannot afford extras.
* Prospective parents must qualify to be parents - have no record of abuse or mental conditions that could place a child in danger. Those that have not qualified must get counselling until they pass and are allowed access to the child.
* World Laws passed (and children have lessons re psychology and sex ed at school) to ensure Intolerance of ANY abuse - emotional, physical, sexual MUST be reported and dealt with via counselling or detention/segregation.
* Military/govt leaders of each region must meet and discuss the problems and merits of each decision made with the main theme of co-operation.

We all know Communism doesnt work. We know Apartheid doesnt work. We know War doesnt work. We know Democracy works to a point but not well enough. We know everyone likes to be different and that enriches the world. We know people like to hold the material wealth and land their own country provides and that is as it should remain.

Perhaps....Empathicism should be the knew stance? Teaching empathy, compassion and love for all humans. I dont know how one would achieve that ideal because so many countries resist change and have fears/anger that prevents them moving on.

You may say the teachings of God/Jesus/Allah/Buddhism tells us all that.....and it does to a point. Hasnt worked well so far has it? So what is next? Better people? No we have great people...just a better mindset and less fear in carrying it all out. Solidarity to preserve all have and to add all we can.

The world was fine until humans evolved and started to f**k it up...maybe we should just give up and try again on another planet, leaving this one to be taken over by snails. Or we could move all uneco-friendly people to the moon and the rest of us could live in peace with the knowledge that the world can't get any worse.

People are not going to get better---people are people. The world is not going to get better---it is made up of people. You can make a difference, however. All change begins with one person---you. There is always something that you can do each day to make life easier and happier for at least one person without having to sacrifice your dignity. and by doing so you will make your own life more secure. It does not have to be much---sometimes a smile and a kind word is all that is necessary.

The people are already here, we just need to become more loving of our fellow man. If each one of us did that, and each person that we came into contact with did the same because of what they learned from the way we treated them, it would soon spread and would indeed change the world.

There are already better people, but what can they do as long as the minority wish it to be a worse place and are prepared to work together to get what they want?
Why should people be able to produce vast amounts of toxic waste for money? Why should companies make vast amounts of money by overpricing medicine?
Its all crazy!

The Kingdom of God must grow. Only The Holy Spirit can remake people, and He is only available through Jesus Christ.

The world needs Jesus Christ to redeem it. This world is corrupted and ready for the trash heap. Jesus is on a rescue mission to save the good parts of this "rotten apple" and throw the rest away. Let Jesus rescue you, friend. Accept Jesus as forgiver and Lord.
