You would not be expected to love a partner that made your life intolerable and caused you immense pain and suffering. Likewise, you would not expect a dog to love an abusive owner.

Then why do all religions expect people to trust and love a god that abuses them in the exact same fashion?

Most Orthodox religions tell us of a punishing God. He isnt a punishing God at all. When we leave this erath to the spirit realms, we are shown with love each scond of our lives, our thoughts and our deeds. if we have lived a good life then we score (brownie points in our progression), if we have done bad or not so nice stuff then we are shown with love each deed and thought and shown the effect it had on others it was directed at. We r are the ones who beat ourselves up mentally if we have hurt someone, especially unintentionaly and if we realise that we have hurt someone then we are given the chance to put it right or to do something good to ,make up for it. In the spirit realms our thoughts and deeds are hidden from no one so we take responsiblility for all we have done thought or other wise. How can a God of love be a punishing God. we punish ourselves. If we dont realise that we have done wrong then we stay at a lower level in the spirit realms till we do realise then can move on in our spiritual progression. Love to all, Pat x

i don't know if you'd call it abusive, but I think your asking why would a loving god neglect us or allow us to go through so much pain and suffering. You bring up a very good question that, I'm sure, many people ask.

I'm not a saint, nor am I a preacher, by any means, but I think you should read the story of Job in the bible.

He was a man who gave all his love to God, but to test Job's love, God allowed Satan to inflict pain and suffering on the man. He LOST everything--wealth, family and even his health. Despite Job's suffering, he still believed and loved God. In the end, to reward Job for his steadfastness, God blessed him with more wealth, a new family and long life.

That was just a summary, but I think you should read that chapter if you want to get a better understanding.

there is nothing wrong with trusting and loving GOD. who states that GOD causes all the anguish and heartaches in the first place ? GOD is LOVE and JOY along with all positive feelings. Mankind created several of his own problems when Adam and Eve broke the only Rule GOD gave them in the first place and then Satan entered the picture when he rebelled against GOD stating it was better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven.

We are "victims of a lesser God".

You should neither love and trust an abusive god, not attribute what you don't know to God Almighty.

If He seems cruel sometimes, and doesn't solve all the problems created by us here out of free will/weakness ... well ... consider that he has all of creation to worry about ... and this is but a small part of it.

You confuse God's tolerance of evil and wickedness for a period of time with your misunderstanding. God does nothing wicked or evil to anyone. Man's suffering is caused by Satan and by man himself. God is trying to allow this period of time for people to learn from their mistakes and turn back to him so that he can rescue them and they will want to stay rescued--not go back to doing the same wicked things all over again. Read the Bible carefully--Do not let anyone who gives you an impression of God as anything but all loving convince you as their words can only be inspired of Satan himself. Feel free to e-mail me if you want to ask anything. I will try to help you find the answer in the Bible.

You should not love or trust, SATAN, the god of this system of things; 2Corinthians 4;4

Ezekiel 43:4-12 And the glory of YHWH/Jehovah itself came into the House by way of the gate the front of which was toward the east..

Son of Man, this is the place of my throne and the place of the soles of my feet, where I SHALL RESIDE in the midst of the sons of Israel to TIME INDEFINITE, and NO MORE will, they, the house of Israel, DEFILE MY HOLY NAME, they and their kings, by their fornication and by the carcasses of their kings at their death, by their putting their threshold and their doorpost, with the wall between me and them. And they DEFILED MY HOLY NAME by their detestable things that they did, so that I *WENT EXTERMINATING THEM* in my anger. NOW, let them remove their fornication and the carcasses of their kings far from me, and I shall certainly reside in the midst of them TO TIME INDEFINITE.

As for you O son of man, inform the house of Israel about the HOUSE, that they may feel humiliated because of their errors, and they must measure the pattern. And IF they actually feel humiliated because of all that they have done, the ground plan of the HOUSE, and its arrangement and its exits and its entryways and all its ground plans and all its specifications, and all its law do you make known to them and write before their eyes in order that they may observe all its ground plans and ALL its specifications and may actually CARRY THEM OUT. This is the Law of the House. On the TOP of the mountain its entire territory all around is something MOST HOLY. Look! This is the Law of the House.

Zechariah 8;2 "This is what Jehovah of armies has said, "I WILL BE JEALOUS FOR ZION with GREAT JEALOUSY, and with GREAT RAGE I will be jealous for her.'"

3) This is what YHWH has said, 'I will return to Zion and reside in the midst of Jerusalem, and Jerusalem WILL CERTAINLY BE CALLED THE CITY OF TRUENESS, and the MOUNTAIN of JEHOVAH of ARMIES, the HOLY MOUNTAIN.'

That does not describe my God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, Father of Our Lord Jesus Christ. My experience is He is all love, but sometimes he has to be firm to toughen us up so that we can show His love to others, even those that hate us.

I don't know which God ur refering to but my God is not abusive. My God is kind and loving and caring. He gave us life and what we do with our lives is up to us. If u chose to make ur life intolerable and painful then that's ur problem not God's. Life is what YOU make it.

If you believe he's abusive you shouldn't love and trust him. People who love and trust God generally don't think he's abusive.
