I'm trying to join the army reserve... And as you know they have strict guidelines. I've lost 40lbs already with a low carb intake, however, I want to try something new. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

That's a fair amount of weight to get rid of, but you can at least try.. get yourself a book called Protein Power, by Drs, Mary Dan and Michael Eades.. This is a healthy, easy way to shed pounds.. in a nut shell, you determine thru a series of minor calculations, what your minimum protein intake should be every day.. mine is about 3-4 ounces 3 times per day.. cut your carbo intake to 55 grams, and you will drop weight like you wouldn't believe.. you need to do your calculations for you, but you will lose.. I guarentee it. This will make your already low carb diet more interesting.. you have already lost 40, so obviously this program works.. stick with it.. drink water til you float. GOOD LUCK!!

Congratulations on the weight loss so far.

It is hard to lose 60 pounds in three months, especially since you have already lost 40 pounds.

Probably the first thing you need to do is to increase your exercise, including cardio and weight training. Join a gym and get advice from a trainer.

Invest in a sensible weight training book. Any large book store will have plenty of them.

You have probably plateaued right now, so you may need to do something different to get the weight moving again. Incorporate a type of cardio into your routine that you have not used before.

Record all your food and exercise everyday. That is a good motivator and will help you ensure that there is a healthy "calorie deficit" everyday.

You are probably already doing this, but drink lots of water - at least 8 big glasses everyday.

Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic index and load. It is mostly NOT your fault, if you need to lose weight. The way we have been taught to eat is responsible for making obesity the number one health problem in the world (according to Atlantic Monthly magazine) replacing hunger and infectious disease. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin. Not a diet, but diet lifestyle.

Find out about fastest way to lose weight, gradual ways to lose weight, most effective exercise, good and bad carbs and anti-water. Lose bodyfat and retained water which also makes you a lot fatter (bloated). Links page has gov. BMI calculater to find out just how much overweight you are (teens plug in your age to compare to others your age). Get latest info like American Heart Association does not want you to eat more than 6 ounces daily of meat, fish or poultry. Most important-- make sure to read the last "fat loss tip", first before anything else, to see the number one food that causes Americans to be fat.

Well the only thing I can think of that would allow you to drop that much weight in such short time would be a couple things...some of which i would highly not recommend.

1) Methamphetamines....will take off 30lbs in a month easy...but after you lost the weight you are a complete crackhead and you'll be whoring yourself out for your habbits...I dont recommend this one.

2) DNP...cooks you from the inside out...you'll lose lots of weight though...I so dont recommend this one either.

3) The cabbage soup or grapefruit diet...this is given to people that need to lose lots of weight FAST for heart surguries. Do a google search on this one.

4) Re-evaluate your goal(s) because what you seek is unrealistic and you will only be setting yourself up for failular....go with something like losing 30lbs in the next three months. Thats more realistic and i would HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!!
