The expression eye for an eye means.. if someone does something to you, you'll do it right back. Example.. if someone yells at you you'll yell right back. The part where it says it makes the whole world blind.. that means everyone would be butting heads, and there would be no right or wrong or good... Make sense? Its kinda hard to explain...hope that helped though :) Good luck!

Well an eye for an eye refers to revenge - doing something to another because they did it to you. So "an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind" sounds like very wise advise to me. How can you consistently live life in a state of revenge? Try turning the other cheek or doing something nice for that person to stop the cycle.

If one does not stop the cycle of violence and revenge, it continues to escalate destructively. There are many examples to look at in the world today, particularly in the Middle Easy and Africa where peace seems nearly impossible because of the desire in so many to extract revenge for past transgressions, even dating back hundreds, or thousands of years.

Basically, it means that people need to be more forgiving. An eye for an eye - if someone does harm to you, what the hell, do harm to them! If everyone is seeking revenge on each other, and can't forgive.. everyone will end up getting hurt.

An exchanhe of blows or insults; a claim that one is entitled to retaliate for an injury or an insult. If one were to retaliate, everyone would go blind.
