Wiring money to you means that you need to give them your bank information and account number. This is dangerous if you do not know the people you are dealing with. With that information, they can empty your bank account.

Receiving money by money order (postal money order only) is much safer. You cash the money order as soon you receive it. Only after getting youb money should you ship out the item you are selling.

Make sure to ask the post office clerk to verify that the money order is not fake.

Do not accept personal check. If you deposit the check and there is no fund to cover it, you will be charged a fee by the bank for the bouncing check. Even if the check is honored, the other party can issue a stop payment order and then your bank will ask you to return the money and charge you a penalty.

There are so many scams and con artists out there. Look adter yourself. Be aware.

Potentially.

There is a problem with faked Postal Service money orders, especially when they overpay for the item

Always treat these things when someone buys something from you as a possible fraud. Make sure you have cash, not a counterfeit money order, before you send anything out.

They are not fake. However to play it safe ... I would cash it first before sending out the product.
