absolutely not.
its in fact very important to believe in god as creation doesnt exist without creator.
its also not wrong not to belong to any religion as a religion is a set of man-made ethics and restrictions followed to "please" god, but to no vain!
so best is to not indulge in religion.
however, belonging to a religion is also not wrong.. its a completely different way of life.

The Bible says that the earth will be destroyed "as it was in the days of Noah". Do you suppose that there were some of those people back then who believed Noah that it just might rain even though it had never rained before, but, for whatever reason, they didn't help him build the ark and never entered the boat???? Read your Bible and believe but keep looking at religion until you find the one true one according to the Bible's teaching. Otherwise, when the earth is destroyed this time by fire, you may be caught outside in the danger zone.

The crux is to know God, not just believe in him.

If you are in touch with the one true God then your spirit will bear witness to Christ.

In Revelation, God says to many "depart from me because I never knew you." Obviously God knows all of us, so what is the distinction here? Why would he say the "he never knew you".

I think the answer is because God is a relational God. He in his very nature, the trinity, is a relationship. So while God knows of us and knows everything about us there is something to the relationship with God that He finds critical.

So I would say that to believe in a God is not enough, you need to know God personally, and if you do know the true God your spirit would bear witness to Christ. And while you may not join a mainline Christian church, you would in fact be a Christian.

I know it sounds like "fundie crap" but it is the truth. Some may think the the truth is crap, but that doesn't change the fact that it's truth. Nutrition is good for me, I may think that it's crap to believe all that healthy "crap" and eat at McDonald's every day. But the truth is if I keep that up it'll kill me, no matter what I believe about it. Truth is truth. There is no "your truth" and "my truth"

Although I'm not the most adequate person to talk about this, because I'm against organized religion, I think there's NOTHING wrong with believing in God and not participate in any religion.

Believing in God is a matter of individual faith, and should not be forced on you by no religion whatsoever.
If you believe in God, if you communicate with Him every day and if you feel Him in your heart, then you're already doing what's right in God's eyes. You don't need organized religion when you're already in touch with God and when you feel His touch.

I have struggled with this same question. To leave Religion out of The faith in a God.The idea that the Religious warfare and "come to the other side"..and your religion is wrong, and the interpretation's of the Bible and any other so Called religious Doctrine.I decided to pray on it.I think seeing the fruits of any Church, or sect of Religion is a good start.Do they help? or hinder? hate or love? Kill or save? Prejudices? Talk to God..he will lead you.

Not quite sure, but why don't you ask around, you could actually find a religion that fits you pertaining to GOD. Pray to God, then listen to what God has to tell you and go from there. He has already ordered your steps anyway!!

Religion is self-righteousness, not Christianity. I believe in God, but I am not self-righteous. Self-righteousness is the belief that you can get to heaven by your own efforts, that is, by works instead of faith. You need a legalistic church for this that tells you that you must do this and that to be saved and get to heaven. Many Christian denominations are like this because they fail to discern the Bible correctly. I belong to a non-denominational organization that believes that you are saved by faith and faith alone. Good works are necessary in order to justify your faith before the world, but they are not necessary to salvation. The real purpose of church is fellowship with like-minded Christians. God DOES expect you to do something with your salvation. Sitting at home watching TV preachers is doing nothing but getting your mind programmed with a lot of false teachings. True worship of God is putting Biblical principles into practice. A Bible believing church is an excellent outlet for serving God, but first you must have faith----faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior and Provider. Without faith, works is nothing but legalism and legalism never got anyone to heaven. Without works, faith is dead, that is, useless.

God wants us to have a personal relationship with us but you must believe that he sent his only begotten son Jesus Christ to die on that cross for our sins you see all the sacrifices man have made were not good enough to make atonement for our sins God sent his son for us the final sacrifice you must believe this and that he rose again on the third day our brother Jesus Christ loves us and wants to have a personal relationship with you and he sent the Holy spirit as our comforter

Well to me it is like seeing a great delicious, hot steaming pie....and then not eating it..............if you have concluded that there is a god.............seek the complete truth.....find out who he is......what he wants.....why he created you.....what are your purposes for being here......seek the full council of this being you claim you believe in.............for the time being don't worry about organized religion per se...just be a truth seeker.....ask the God of your understanding to reveal himself

In fact it is ideal. Only thing one should follow in this case is that to do good in thought, word and deed. All the religions talk about love, tolerance and to be good in thought, word and deed.
