Jesus said " "I and the Father are one." (Jesus quoted by John 10:30) " God. and in John 1:1 1In the beginning was Jesus, and Jesus was with God, and Jesus was God. Jesus is the word of God. 'My Father is working still, and I am still working.' This was why the Jews sought all the more to kill him, because he not only broke the sabbath, but also called God his own Father, making himself equal with God. (Jesus quoted by John 5:16-18)

Jesus ALSO said WE can do EVERYTHING HE DID.
We can walk on water and One disciple did for a few moments.
We can raise the dead (have you not heard of CPR, that didn't have that back then, but it is restarting the body with a touch).
We can cure the sick (a lot of mothers do it with just a touch of the hand to the forehead).
WE are made in GOD's IMAGE. God, himself, said if he allowed man to eat from the Tree of Life then MAN would be as GODS.
That is the primary difference between MAN and GOD. MAN is finite, GOD isn't.
Man is made from God. God made the Earth. Man came from the dust of the Earth and the breath of God. Man is made from God's DNA (not Monkey DNA).
As long as man keeps living in the Matrix, man will not realize you can bend and break the rules.
Einstein saw this with relativity. The Rule or Laws of Newton can no longer apply once you change your universe.
How does Jesus walk on water.
Science KNOWS there exists something termed SURFACE TENSION, it's just limited.
God and Jesus can change things like that and SO CAN MAN, man is just afraid to. Man lack what we term "faith."
Faith is what you have when you ask a girl out. You have faith in yourself so you are confident.
Faith is what you have when you do CPR becaused you are trained in it and have mastered it so you undestand it and know you can do it. It doesn't mean it will work, no one can go against God, not even Jesus.
Jesus asked God to take the cup away from him and God said NO.
We are all technically the equals of God in all areas except infinity. We are finite. We die. God doesn't. God is eternal.
The Mass of the Universe is Eternal. There is no such as a total vacum or nothing. The MASS of the Universe has always been and always will be.
God is eternal. God is the universe. God is everything because everything was created by God.
Houses, cars and airplanes are man's crude inventions or creations.
God may have once had these things too and that is how man created them, because something inside said DO IT.
Man is on the verge of cloning and "creating life" artifically or through manipulation (of dirt and breath), the only thing is it's taken thousands of years for many to master these things, that God knew long before man came into being!
If the scientists are right it's taken MILLIONS of years (a day to God may not be a day to Man).
Man is trying to disprove Darwin, that LIFE can be CREATED BY INTELLEGENT DESIGN, except man is smug and belives MAN is God.
Science is doing this! It isn't satisified with it's own theories of SERENDIPITY, the Randomist claim that it just happened spontaniously. Man, the scientist, is pushing forward to make INTELLEGENT DESIGN a realaity. Then, what. Man becomes God to the new species it designs?
One day intellegent design WILL be taught in schools. Man's way.

Jesus was God with us. God in the flesh. The Pharisees did not recognize His claims, but thought He spoke blasphemies, because of their hardness of hearts, and saw Him as a threat to the peace with Rome. They loved their high places of authority in the temple and with the Roman government in Jerusalem.
John 6-10 is the account of Jesus feeding the five thousand.

Jesus never once claimed to be equal with God,or God come in the flesh as you put it.
The angel Gabriel had told Mary that Jesus would be called the Son of God.Jesus himself said he was God's Son.And he did not tell people that he knew more than his Father did.He said "The Father is greater than I am"
(John 14:28)
Jesus is though, much more than JUST a good man.He is the Son of God,who gave up his heavenly position to come to earth as a perfect human and offered that perfect life as a ransom sacrifice in order that mankind may be saved from the enslavement to sin and death.
Jesus agan resides in the Heavens as a mighty spirit creature, ruling as KIng of God's Kingdom.(Dan.2:44)

Your topic here is just rehashed C.S. Lewis. (By the way, do you know that he called Theocracy "the worst type of government"?) To his trichomomy of "liar, lunatic, or Lord", I add a third "L"-- "Legend". I say that Jesus NEVER EXISTED. So he DIDN'T claim equality with God, and the Pharisees DIDN'T try to stone him for it.
Do you care to know the REAL story? Or are you like most victims of piety poisoning and have shut off your thinking? I challenge you to read "The Jesus Mysteries" by Timothy Freke & Peter Gandy. Don't be a cowardly ignoramus like most Christians who say, "The only book I need is the BIBLE! I don't need to read the words of unsaved men!"
And to cleanse yourself of the unfair, inaccurate, and prejudicial image of the Pharisees that's presented by the Gentile Gospels, I suggest you read "The Mythmaker" by Hyam Maccoby, aleading Jewish scholar. He'll show you the truth about the Pharisees, instead of Christian lies that people ignorantly swallow.
Aww, but you're probably terminally incurious like most of you Biblethumpers.

How can we ask or answer questions like this, when the real/historical Jesus remains a mystery?
How can we know what Jesus REALLY said, when all we have for reference is a set of third/fourth hand texts, translated several times, perhaps heavily edited, full of patent contradictions, and compiled by a bunch of self-interested Bishop-bureaucrats some 350 years after the fact?
Under the circumstances ... no wonder we're all talking in circles, on all such issues.

Jesus never did made himself equal with God, in Fact he said he came from The Father & he said that he was the Son of God. It was man that made him God. They try to use the verse that says God was manifested in the Flesh, That is true, God was Manifested through Jesus Christ But Jesus Christ was not God. If we try to make the flesh of Jesus God, THEN GOD HAD TO DIED, God did not & can not die, what did die was the Body of Jesus That the spirit of God dwell in After Jesus was baptised And not before.

Good point....he never claimed to be just a good man like some have ignorantly stated ...
He was the messiah predicted and prophecied about for hundreds of years in the Old Testament...he fulfilled all the prophecies..
Truly was the Son of God.
The Pharisees wanted to stone him for his claim of Diety.....and today the Muslims want to do the same to Christians who claim Jesus is God.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but! Jesus said "God is greater than I "am! He never ever claimed equal status with his father..........
Jesus Is the creation of God as an Angel. (They) worked together to create eveything else, including the rest of the Angels God now uses as messengers.
Read your bible a bit more carefully!
Jesus became "a" God after he gave up his perfect earthly life, as a reward for his sacrifice.

So just because someone claims something it is automatically true? I could claim to be a millionaire but that doesn't make it the truth. You are talking about someone who lived almost 2000 years ago, how are you sure the truth is intact other than by pure faith?
