I have a question for denist and/or dental students......
I brush my teeth twice a day, but between the second time and when I go to bed I often eat.....does it matter if you eat between brushing your teeth and going to bed or is it more important to simply brush twice a day?

You need to brush right before you go to bed. The food staying on your teeth is not good...it can lead to bad breath and increase decay.

You are on the right track with brushing two times per day. Ideally, you should brush after every meal and floss once a day also. However, you just need to make sure that you are keeping them clean and brushing before you go to sleep. After you brush before bed, do not have anything but water.

Foods and sodas and things just sit on your teeth when you do not brush. The acidity and sugars are not good for your teeth anyway, but even worse when you just let them sit...especially overnight.

Brush right before you hit the pillow, you do not want any food debris to sit on your teeth for that long period of time.
