Give him a large bone to chew on - if his mouth is occupied he'll be less likely to bark?

My dog barks at everything and i tried a collar that emits a high pitch noise but it did not work it just used to bark flinch when the collar made a noise then carry on barking i found that in the house to stop it barking was to have a plastic bottle with pennies in it a shake it at it every time it barked and it did calm it down a lot in the house and when i out i just keep it on a lead and this seems to work some of the time

Tell your dog sharply and firmly, "No!" Do not smile or indicate with your body language anything but displeasure. Hold yourself stiff and rigid while looking the dog directly in the eye. It is imperative that you respond in no other manner. After you have told the dog no, stare at it for a few seconds, then ignore it.
Depending on the dog's temperament and how long it has been doing this, it will eventually get the message that you are displeased as the alpha of their pack with their barking and that they will get no extra attention from you for barking.
The point is to let the dog know they are doing wrong with the verbal command (once only), of no and with your body language - unmoving, erect and direct eye contact. Also that they will get no other attention from you for barking which is equally important. But you must do this every time and never deviate or give in. Pets, like people, learn by repetition.
Good luck.

You can buy a citronella collar, that will spray a little citronella every time the dog barks, which they don't like. After a few days they work out that if they don't bark they won't smell lemons.
You can get collars that give out little electric shocks on the same principle, but giving dogs electric shocks doesn't really sit well with me.
You can get them in any pet shop.

get a small plastic bottle and fill it 1/4 with stones. When he barks go up the him shake it hard and say no. in time you will only have to pick up the bottle and he will know to stop. Then with a bit of luck he will stop altogether. Make sure you give him a treat and make a fuss when he doesn't bark when he usually does. my friend did this with her dogs and it worked. Takes time and perseverance. good luck

You can get a bark control collar that you place around their neck like a normal one, except when they bark it sprays a fine mist of water on them and they stop barking, it takes about 2/3 weeks for them to be trained by it

My dog does it all the time but please dont get a barking collar thet are cruel. When you walk past someone in the park or another dog as soon as he starts barking turn back around. Then try again if he continues to bark turn around again. As for your neighbour try and bring him in and then let him out when he calms down if he starts barking again bring him in again.

Can you still get those lemon things that sprays them with lemon each time it barks? I think that aversion therapy is the only way isn't it. If it is a small dog it will just be like that anyway, annoying yappy things. Get a cat, they just ignore everything.

Theres a device you can get from any Pets At Home store it cost £69. You put water in it and tie it round its neck and when he barks it sprays water on him. Ive got one and works well.
