Yep- from my expereinces in many of the places listed through your responses, safety is pretty much common sense. Never had a problem in St. Lucia, St. Kitts, Puerto Rico,or, anyplace I've been in Mexico (Cozumel is my favorite place and I feel EXTREMELY safe there); can't comment on some of the other places like Aruba or St. Marteen/St. Martin because I haven't been there. Let's vote to see what everyone else thinks.

My family say that you can go to Montserrat, stay in a house and leave the front door open, and everything will be fine, but that was a few years ago. Another place is St. Kitts - I mean, stand on the top of one of the hills, and you can see the rest of the island, so I guess no one's really dumb enough to cause trouble right in front of your face. St. Lucia's pretty nice too, with amiable people, but to tell the truth, there's really no way to judge this, what you have to do when you go to the caribbean or any other place is BE AWARE of your surroundings. It's relatively easy to stay safe in the caribbean.

Cancun is very safe especially if you walk around the hotel zone. The Mexicans need tourists to survive and are very friendly and polite; My daughter and I walk in the evenings and have never had a problem. We take the bus to Walmart which is downtown and grocery shop and again everyone is friendly. Curacao is very safe as well but there's not much to walk to, you need to take a taxi to most places. Dominican republic...Puerta Plata, Santo Domingo, stay in the resort-same as Jamaica and Puerto Rico. Go to Cancun, it's our favorite and we go twice a year!

The comments approximately Australia are loopy. They honestly have been initially a Gun Nut united states and protested while their government wanted to take them away. in spite of the shown fact that, they have not had a mass taking photographs on account that 1992 as a consequence and the Australians (even people who protested) will now assist you be responsive to they sense lots safer. to boot, not all weapons have been taken away; human beings nonetheless have looking rifles and if a bad guy or boogie guy broke into your place, you will possibly nonetheless have the skill to do various harm with a looking rifle. My factor - do we honestly desire each and every American to have get entry to to gadget weapons and sniper rifles? won't be in a position to we restriction particular gun get entry to and purely make hand weapons and searching rifles obtainable? only asserting.

pretty much all of them are safe if you use common sense, although there are a few things to watch out for. Any of the Mexican ports are fine as is Grand Cayman and the eastern carribean ports. In Belize and Jamaica you need to stay with reputable tour guides.
