There were some cartoons made a little while ago depicting Allah.The Muslim community went up in arms saying you are not allowed to show a picture of Allah as this is blasphemy.
My question is....if there are no pictures of Allah to compare with how do you know the pictures were of Allah and not of my mate Memhet who lives in london?I know its all about depiction but how do you know it was a picture of him ? Bring it on !!

Fadiz Z....how do you know my mother wasnt a pig ?? lol...look all im saying is the world is crazy on religion.Its the biggest killer on the planet(but Bush aint far behind!)There are no comparisons for you to guage what it is your supposed to be unhappy about.I dont believe in any God or Prophets, only humanity, which it appears is sadly lacking..so chill out

I am a Christian but I fairness and equity, I believe Fadiz Z is correct.
It is indeed factual that Muslim believes that there are no pictures of Allah. But, the mere fact that they (the maker of cartoons) says it is Allah, then, that is an insult enough.
You yourself said it "There were some cartoons made a little while ago depicting Allah"....so, the INTENT there is to say that this is ALLAH. Whether, you got His real face or not,IT IS THE INTENT OF THE CARTOONIST NOT CARTOONS ALONE THAT RIDICULES MUSLIM.

What on earth is wrong with making fun of people, religious or not? The Far Side cartoon had some very funny cartoons of god from time to time. what really hurt the mohommedans is simply that the cartoons were too close to the truth for comfort.
Don't forget, they can do no wrong! The koran says so. the only crime is to commit a crime against somebody who happens to be from the same sect of mohommedanism as yourself. Anyone else is fair game.

Because it was made clear by the cartoonist that the cartoon was about Allah. For example, if someone were to do a satirical cartoon regarding God (Christian God) they might use an old man with a big white beard, and it would be obvious that it was God that was being referred to, and not Father Christmas or my Grandad. No one knows what Allah actually 'looks like 'so, bit of a silly question in my opinion - sorry.

Firstly it was about the Prophet Mohammed...not Allah.
Secondly it maybe because editorial cartoons usually put labels on their characters...so if it said right there next to a towelhead with a bomb "Prophet Mohammed" (if I remember correctly this is what made them Muslims go crazy)... then whether the Muslims know what Mohammed looks like or not they will think it depicts Mohammed and thus the religious insults begin.
Nonetheless it is a good question... hopefully you get better answers...

I know my words may mean nothing for you .. But, don't you see that illogic bible stories about worshipping a man prophet as if he is GOD have made most of christians nowadays insulting the whole idea of religions while most of them didn't push himself to read about the real GOD or Allah ..
Do you think that depicting or insulting or ignoring Allah in your words will vanish the truth .. and will cancel the universal scenario occuring now from behind your permission and acceptance .. can you depict in your mind how are the far planets look like .. can you depict how was Adam .. Moses or even your grandgrand mother .. no way .. !!
It was all about the idea of insulting the sacred values of others just because they disagree with them .the same like you are doing now.
when we criticise the muslem terror killers coz they insult and give themselves the right to kill others.. are we mistaken ..?? you are doing the same now by insulting Allah and believers without reason.
If there was no Allah and was no after life .. what would prevent us from killing, eating, *******, insulting .. kidnapping and stealing all others' properties and rights ..??!! it's only one single chance to live then we should simply take all our share even if it's on the expense of others.. is that what athiests belive or should we become stupid to sacrifice for nothing .. ?
What if .. just a simple what if .. GOD is there waiting for you the second you would die .. will you be then able to return yourself to life to believe ??.. did you see anobody died and came back .. ?

Allah, yet another name for God, no one knows what he looks like, Mohamed well he was nothing more that another man, and just like Jesus there is no complete description of him, only what man has passed along.
This was just something else the so called religious people of the Muslim faith to moan about, if they were true to their faith they would stop all the killings that is going on, or maybe there isn't anybody to stand up for what's right??

I believe the cartoons you refer to depicted the Prophet Mohammed, not Allah. And that is prohibited because honored as he is in Islam, Mohammed was just a man, and making images of him might border on idolatry.

Who is "ALLAH"? all Muslims look the same to me so to be honest, i don't really give a toss, they use their religion when it suits them. If Muslims are so dedicated to their beliefs, like non-drinking, non-gambling,anti-drugs that 40% of inmates in British prisons are from the Muslim community and many i've seen drink, gamble and take drugs anyway. These are the people who only use their religion when its convenient to them, so how they get upset over a stupid cartoon is beyond me.

I we believe or do not it remains a fact. Do you ever hear anyone using budah or mohameds name in vain on tv? No - but Christ name is used in vain all the times. People only try and proof the bible wrong never other religions books. I am just asking this question - we only try to proof something wrong when we are not shure about it. We know the rest does not exist thats why we dont proof them wrong. This remains a fact - Bible one book written over 1000 year with one theme love. Difrent people wrote the Bible in diffrent times and the theme of grace and love is always at the centre. No other God gave His live for His people. Other Gods wanted to increase there importance - Christ humbled Himself and paid the price for our sin. No where does such a God exist - but in Jesus Christ. The world proofs Jesus daily by denying Him mocking Him, because He is the only God they are doing it with. They are afraid He is real and dont no what els to do. The answer is worshiping Him, meeting Him, praying and calling out to Him. He wil answer. Bless you - A pray Love and PEace over you.

I do not think any one could make an acurat depiction of God so any pic of allah is less than worthless why all the fuse
