verry dificult question ...but...
even if you`re not a religious person, you must realise the crucial role that has played in mankind`s history. even more the unseen effect that has on us today.
For some may be the thing that makes them keep going on( like for a mother taking on 2 jobs, and praying to God for the free time to take her son to socer practice)... for others can play the role of judge (a man feeling sorry for what he has done and searching for redemption)... or even as a "stress reliever"(for a sudent befor the exams, hopping that god will not forget him)
to answer you question ....probably this "War of the Religions" will end tragicly because in this world there are people that don`t see religion as a cure, but as the "absolute truth"(cause to more than 2000 years hypocrite leadership)
still... the world would be a sadder place without this "imaginary friends"

The blowing up stuff will continue but eventually sane heads will prevail and religion will not be the force it is today. It will not come for a while, but it will happen. Religion is not the force in the world it was hundreds of years ago and that trend will slowly continue

Religion has been a part of humanity since the begning of recorded civilization. To think that something that has survived so long in human cultures would be eliminated is a bit pie in the skyish. Many many people have killed in the name of their religion not just christians and muslims; some kill in the name of atheism. Killing people to perpetuate their personal agenda is part of humanity. It is notworthy that some atheists and agnostics right here in Yahoo! Answers have mentioned that "fundies" should be eliminated.
So for my thoughts I would say neither will happen at all.

Are you another one of those who see "religion" as a great "problem" within this world?
First, allow me to point out that Christianity is different from other beliefs in that it is not about religion. Rather, it is about what God has already done for us in Jesus Christ. In the Christian faith, it is recognized that religion doesn't make anyone "right with God"...only Jesus can do that. Religion is simply a response to what God has done for us.
Therefore, "good works" come naturally...as a response from our faith. Unfortunately, some people seem to forget that and get hung up on "rules & requirements". The New Testament talks about those who wish to be "religious" by saying:
"pure religion is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world." (James 1:27).
Finally, I know that many people blame religion as a source of conflict in this world. While I understand why someone would say that, I think the root of the problem doesn't lay with religion...rather, it lays within man's nature (our capacity for evil). Religion can be used as an excuse or tool for evil (by those with evil hearts), but "religion" is not the cause in itself.

Christians don't blow people up in the name of God. Religion is only stupid to the people who do not know God. Those of us who have felt His power and presence know He is real. The Bible is the Word of God and not a made up story. It was written by men, but guided by the Spirit. I hope you find the truth too, so you may enjoy His heavenly kingdom.
