When i was 18 I went through a phase of dying my hair really dark, almost black, and my original colour is fairly light brown. I decided to go back to my natural colour so went to the hairdressers and asked them to do it. After dying it, the hairdresser started to blow-dry it but then stopped, and asked me if I'd rather save the money and dry it myself at home, "since my mother had already arrived to pick me up". I thought she was being nice, so I tipped her generously and went on my merry way...

My hair was totally orange. You couldn't tell when it was wet, but it was apparent in the section at the back she had already dried.

I had to go back the next day and demand my money back so I could go to another hairdresser and get it fixed. Annoyingly she wasn't there so I couldnt ask for the $20 tip back!

I went to the most expensive salon in town, desperate for the best colourist possible to fix my hair. But she said the only thing they could do was dye something much darker over the orange, since the bright glow would show through any light or medium shade.

$200 later I ended up exactly where I started- very dark, almost black hair.

Lots of times over the years, I hate going to the hairdressers because they never listen to what you say to them or even attempt to do it the way you asked, many years ago I went to a very popular high street hairdressers, my hair was just below my shoulders and when I came out I looked like a turkey c o c k with spiked hair that was so short it was unbelievable, I cried for hours and no matter what I did I could not do anything with it, I didn't go back to the hairdressers for a long time after that, 4 years ago I wanted a style that was quick and easy to do with lots of layers, the hairdresser said I would suit the bob better and that's how it ended up, so boring as it was already that style when I went in, again last year because my hair has got very long I went to the hairdressers for a good cut, guess what she said, oh I hate cutting long hair, so I got up and walked out and I haven't been back to an hairdressers since, my hair is in excellent condition but too long and I really would like a style that is quick and convenient to do, wish I knew a hairdresser that would not only do that for me but one that would listen to me too.

Yes my wife who won't leave the house now!!! well maybe thats not quite right. She went on Saturday to her favourite hairderssers but couldn't get her usual hairdresser. Poor thing when she come out she looked like a cross between a peacock and Rod Stewart. The colours are terriable and the style is like a seventies football player would have had. She takes pride in her self and her hair. She works hard and saves hard for her hair doing. She was intending to grow it but it will take her ages for the top to get to a decent length. She has taken half a days holiday from work to try and get this sorted today . So hopefully they will have sorted it out or give her back her money so some other hairdresser can help her out.

I once went to a new hairdresser (very cheap - I should have guessed why!) to get my hair coloured. I'm naturally a dull brown, so I wanted chestnut highlights. It ended up the most incredible shade of carrot orange, like a clown's hair!

So then they tried to fix it, and in the process dripped the colour all down the back of my shirt, ruining it.

Fortunately I was working for a solicitor's office at the time, so I got them to write a stroppy legal letter and I claimed compensation. But I still had to walk around with stupid coloured hair until it wore off, because they never managed to really put it right!

Now I go to an expensive hairdresser - I reckon it's worth it.

Ha Ha I had one about ten years ago, I wanted to have my hair cut short but when I got there I bottled it and instead asked for a trim. The girl was trimming my hair and got spooked by the door slamming and proceeded to cut a massive chunk out of my hair, so i got my short cut after all and hated it! been long ever since and now I feel spooked everytime I go to the hairdressers ( I still use the same girl too)

Yes me, when I was 5 my sister had her hair cut into a chin length bob and I cried for days to get one done too. Eventually my mum gave in and took me to the hairdressers where they cut my long ringlets into the bob I'd wanted so much......I hated it, I thought I looked like a boy and was too embarrassed to be seen by anyone, I sat on the floor of the car all the way home where my Dad opened the front door to Piss himself laughing at me.
Never had a Bob since.

Yes - I made the mistake of having my son's hair cut while I was getting mine done, even though I usuallu take him to his regular hairdresser. It was cheaper but - boy, did they botch up the job. A few days later I took him to his own hairdresser.

I wanted to go back to my original color and I had quite a few highlights done before that made my hair almost all blond. My original color is light brown, so I figured I should have this professionally done. Well to say the least my hair turned GREEN and no matter how much conditioner I put in my hair it was like barb wire! Omg it was awful! I had to call my best friend and she came over to help me with my situation.
