No, I do not agree with this premise. Firstly, it is worded in such a way as to take God out of control as a STANDARD, and to replace that standard with a moveable notion that God must be in agreement with ME. You may have not meant it this way, but there it is.
As long as I AM on the SIDE of GOD, WE can do all things. Now, this is something with which I agree. Those things are of a spiritual nature.
Special protection? PHYSICAL or SPIRITUAL?? Physical, NO. Spiritual, Yes, IF again YOU are on the side of God and do not move.
With God all things are possible, with men many things seem impossible. The KEY is to be ON God's SIDE and forget YOUR side of things. HIs ways are higher than man's ways, and His wisdom is greater than man's. Only when you apply HIS principles to YOUR life will you see success.

There is no such thing as God, at least not just one of them. Think about it -- every living thing in the world comes from 2. So how can there be only one god? A long time ago man looked up into the heavens and all he could see was himself... a pretty arrogant species.

No. There is more freedom of will then anybody can imagine. BUT with more freedom comes more responsibilities. If you are father of a family, you are responsible for your family.
If you are captain of a team, you are responsible for your team. If you are leader of a nation, you are responsible for much more people. As a father, a captain and a leader you have God on your side, but it is your responsibility to make right choices and rule your people wisely.
Power corrupts.
Not all leaders are able to be like Jesus Christ, Mohamed or Mahatma Gandhi.
