If there is nothing in it that goes against a Muslim's religion there is no problem but whats the big deal about making a song compulsory you cant point a gun at every ones head & make them sing, is it going to be cumpolsary in job interviews, school admissions & even before admitting people to a hospital that they will be asked to sing 'Vande mataram' to judge peoples patratiosim? Why is it being forced down peoples throats? I thought India was a free country.

I think every Indian has a right to decide what they would like to sing and what they would not.
According to the Indian courts, every Indian does not have to sing the Indian national anthem so why should vande mataram be enforced on people? It should be a right - meaning it's not mandatory.
As an Indian Muslim, I don't have any issues with singing vande mataram and as shown on the news today, there are plenty of Indian Muslims like me who agree.
The problem is misinterpretation of the song's meaning. It is politics by the way. Just like the Britishers divided Indians, the same thing is still being used in India.
I just have to say that I am proud to be an Indian! :)

I am born in India and am follower of Bhagavad Gita.
I have problem with Making "Vande Matram" Compulsory..
Bhagavad Gita first teaching is that we are not this body. We are eternal souls. So how can i call my self Indian just because you have created a border? and you have a praticular Constitution??
This Constitution allows Killing of Cows which is very much against my Religion. If you are not aware Cow is treated as Mother. Why should I even support such a Government who is against my Scriptures?
You want to glorify Mother land and kill Mother Cow.This is insanity. If you have some respect for Vedic Culture, first try to stop this Cow Killing.
Why will i glorify a Country where Cows are killed in Hundreds every Day. And now India is glorifying the prostitutes, Encouraging free sex and abortion..
why should I pay tribute to such a country ??

Sorry I have invaded your territory,,,
I am not an Indian, but ur neighbor Sri Lankan,
" Vande Mataram " I have come across this term in Hindi patriotic movies and when I hear that it arouse me a deep feeling of some urge to act on behalf of my country(Bharat Mata)...,,
This anti-muslim thing you mention here is irrelevent I suppose, (You mention that is .... Indian Muslims feel so....)
My opinion is; this song is about India..., one should think about the country than the religion....(even though you cann't separate Hinduism and India)

I am an Indian and yes think it should.
but I have one question if the song is ancient then how can it have anti-Islamic content because Islam is only 1400 yrs and that is not ancient. Sanskrit is about 2500 yrs old written by a Dravidian in Tamil because Sanskrit does not have it's own scripts, later translated in to Pala script from Pala dynasty based in and around Bengal.

I come from Indian descent and I would love a link to an MP3 version of "Vande Mataram" if possible. Thanks heaps bro.
I don't know why they would have a problem with it, perhaps Muslims being the minority in India they feel they are oppressed somewhat or need to make everything in to a feel sorry for me situation or excuse for hate.
Can't we all just get along? lol.

The important thing about living in a free, democratic country is that one should be free to either sing it or not, as they please! I cannot understand the talk of it being compulsory. Can you force anyone to sing the National Anthem?
However, neither can I understand the fuss some muslims are making about it. Its about nationalistic sentiment, and not religion! See beyond your religious blinkers - not everything in the world is based on religion!
