"What" is a word which is used interrogatively and it is usually used in the start of an interrogative sentence, also for asking for the choice from an indefenite number or a statement of amount,
For example "What is your name?"
It can also be used as an interrogative for asking a particular kind of thing. Or it can be used to denote exclaimation
For example "What a beautiful sight". And such others
Thus the word "What" has a lot of uses.
Good luck.

THAT IS THE REASON behind your willingness to KNOW...
Keep questioning, and one day you will know HOW to know, but WHEN and WHERE, in WHICH situation,--frankly speaking--I can't say.
