Drink a bunch of booze & then drive around at night, flashing your lights & swerving. You'll definitely find out how many cops are around. Worked for me !!!!!!!!!

If it is for genuine reasons, contact your local police station and ASK.

However, patrols will increase and decrease during the course of the day and night depending on what officers are responding to/dealing with etc. So you will never get a 100% accurate answer to that question.
