Faith is knowing you will possess the things you want even though there is no likelihood about it....

I can't remember where the other scripture is, but I know that Jesus taught that it was more blessed to believe without having to have something proven to them.

To me, this scripture reminds me that as a Christian, my life is under God's protection and control. When I listen and obey, He knows what is best for me. When he nudges me not to do something or prompts me to do that, I need to listen. Because I find when I go against that nudging or prompting, I wish I had listened.

Here's a minor example. Last week, I needed to get some shoes for a job interview, and found some shoes that I liked that were on sale. I put them in the cart and felt that God was saying to me to put them back. A couple of hours later I was passing a shoe store that is going out of business and all of their shoes were marked 50% off. The second store had a pair that fitted better, and ended up costing less than $10. I would have paid $20 at the other store. If I had bought the shoes at the first store, I would not have had the money for the discount shoes. So God knew what I needed even before I did.

This may not be the best example, but I know that God knows what is best for me, and if you listen, He is there to guide you on even the minor issues in life.

Hebrews chapter 11 is the great faith chapter of the Bible. In verse one the author tells us what faith does, more than what faith is. Faith provides assurance and evidence in the form of conviction. Faith involves hope for future occurrences and at the present hope in things not seen. We have hope in the resurrection to come and hope in the forgiveness of sins now. In the great chapter of Romans 8:24 & 25, Paul writes, "For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it."

Faith is one's ability to understand there is more to life than what can only be seen with our five senses. things are not always what they appear to be on the surface. Faith might be the idea that things will turn out all right even when one is down and in the depth of negative thoughts and feelings. the wheel will always keep turning

This Scripture verse means that faith is the literal manifestation of what we as Christians believe but cannot see. For example, Christians believe there is a Heaven. Although it cannot be seen at the moment with eyes, it can be seen through the eyes of faith.

Having faith that God will always provide. Which He does in the most peculiar ways sometimes.
Faith is like when I lost my job in March 2005 because of heart disease and my wife got laid off the same month. DISASTER! Her imployer was a Muslim and my wife made the mistake of playing a Christian cd one day. She got a job making twice the money on the day of her last employment check. I have been approved for total disability Social Security.
I had faith. I laid my problems at the altar knowing God would take care of it. My bills were always paid. We always had food. Both our cars always had gas. This is the result of faith.

Ah we are saved by Grace through faith.

Look at the anti GOD education system in America and the anti GOD media that is in place and the anti GOD people who ridicule Christians as weak minded hell fire and brimstone spitting fools. This is what is seen up front by most people.
Now something inside us draws us to GOD anyway. And sooner or later we find out that the Bible is flawless and historically accurate, filled with endless mind blowing prophecies that have come to pass like clockwork. The vehicle that connects us with the Holy Spirit is Faith. The Holy Spirit brings us to Jesus. Jesus brings us to the throne of GOD as adopted children of GOD. Amen.
That's Faith in action.

GOD bless ya!

Hello Darriel Hagans.. :)

When I ask the Lord anything I must believe, without my faith wavering to and fro, that He hears us and that whatsoever we have asked of Him, no matter how long it may take..He has heard us and He will answer us.. :)

I was praying and believing in God for a car, I also told the Lord it had to be free of charge..I would look out my door each and everyday for 3 months and thank the Lord for the car that He had given to me, I believed that though I could not see the car that He heard my prayers and He would answer them..

On July 12 th..my Pastor called me and said are you going to be home today, I said yes..he came over to my home that afternoon..he said God told him you need a car, so here is a car for you..Praise the Lord..and it was free of charge..

That is what this scripture means to me.. :)

In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With Love..In Christ.. :)

The evidence of things not seen
-->since unseen such as spirits (God to be specific) cannot be seen, you believe His existence because of faith

Substance of things hoped for
-->almost the same as above, since what we hoped for (paradise/eternal life) is something intangible, the became its substance and hus we believe we can have it.

Faith is what you believe to be true, proven to be true without empirical evidences. Faith is what gives us HOPE. Any time you see the word HOPE, think of the HOPE of Heaven. Our hope is to go to heaven when we die. Our faith gives substance to our hope, and evidence, without sight.

Hope that is clear.

Sorry, you will not be justified with that one. It does not mean what you think it does. Humans have the ability to imagine what something could be. We do not think other animals do this. Imagination and reason many times are not both employed ta all things so without reason anything can be imagined. Add reason and it changes all. No there is no god.
