For Root and Ecram, you lack understanding of what it means to be a Christian, which is what this question is about. It is one thing to be a Christian and another to call oneself a Christian. Matthew 7:21; cf. Luke 6:46

yup, me being born orthodox but switched to evanghelic (german religion). Catholics are way more than obsessed with their religion. The pope is for catholic something like George Bush for Americans. I belive in god, but religion sucks, because IT'S AN INSTITUTION with it's only purpose to CONTROL THE POPULATION. Religion went far away from God and is wicked. Watch out... ;)

Perhaps you don't understand a key distinction here that one of my pastors once shared in a sermon.

There is a difference between Icons and Idols. Icons are something that is used to bring you to a point of worship with God, while idols are a replacement for God.

So, if a Catholic uses the rosary to help them remember to pray for other people and for their sins, is that Bad? If they pray before a statue of the Virgin Mary and it reminds them of the birth of our savior and the miracle of that birth, how can that be wrong? They are used as the means to get closer to God, not what they worship.

I'm a Protestant, but I am convinced that many Catholics will be in heaven.

Catholic are Christians silly.
The 2nd best thing the Catholics have done for the world is the paintings and sculptures they left all over the west. Take away all the Madonna and Child's and St Whoever" and the walls of museums would be bare.

Catholics are Christians,
If you are going to garner non-christian views on Christianity, why stop with the Muslims....why not check out the wiccan viewpoint, and the Sikh.....and don't forget those Taoists....they may have a relevant opinion on your biased view of Christianity, too

You are biased...have you ever heard of the 'no true scotsman' fallacy.....basically, you are saying "I am a christian, therefore anyone who does things that I do not agree with is not a 'true' christian"
You are sitting as judge and jury on christianity as a whole and, if I were a catholic christian, I would be very offended at your bias

In order to prove that Catholics are idolaters, you will first have to prove that they not only venerate but adore the Virgin Mary and the saints. Good luck !...

You will also find in the Bible that God himself asked the Jews to carve images of angels to ornate the Arch of the Covenant, so the question may be more complex than what you think...

All religion is bunk, based on the mistaken idea that a personal power controlls the weather etc. It is a fallacy which occurred when man used the social areas of the brain (frontal lobes) to interpret natural phenomena.

When I hear this passage from Exodus I always ask, why would God be jealous?

There can be only two explanations for this.

1. Man made god and gave god human attributes.
2. God is jealous because there are other gods.

Take your pick.

Firstly, get your facts straight before making accusations and rash generalisations.
It sounds like you are repeating what you heard from someone else and couldn't be bothered to think for yourself and find out about the RCC.
Misguided and poor question
