Definitely a mental illness and should be treated as one. A doctor who has a patient who insists on having things done repeatedly should send them for psychiatric evaluation.

well, I think there is a big difference in having procedures done to improve small things in order to feel better about yourself, and addiction. Plastic Surgery Addiction often stems from an underlying disorder where the person has a distorted image of themselves...a lot like an anorexic. I think cosmetic surgery addiction should be treated; and as for cosmetic procedures in general, I am all for them!!!

I think there is something wrong in peoples minds if they feel they need even one plastic surgery. (cases like breast cancer, birth deformities, or accidents are excluded). People who feel they need plastic surgery to improve their self esteem need to see a counselor instead. Your self esteem should not be based on your looks or even be effected by how you look. Stetch marks, wrinkles, and sagging all come along with growing older and most people thought your wisdom too. You have a lot more problems to worry about if you think surgery will fix your small boobs or reduce your fat.

It's a major addiction, I know a woman who has had10 surgery's in the past year, all in the hopes of looking like she is 16 again.
Well... It hasn't worked as of yet & as sad as it may seem, she has scheduled another, all in the name of addiction.

I think it is dumb. Everyone is different. But look at the damage some people get out of it like Michael Jackson (fake nose). There are alot of botched jobs done by those doctors. Everyone is unique in their own way. Why not just look like you. Don't try to be perfect or look like a china doll. You are you. Be proud of that. Besides most of those so called improvements make them look fake (like lips and eyes).

To keep yourself looking good is fine..but any doctor who sees you have had more than ten surgeries and can't stop should be reported..unless it is truly for surgical reasons like birth defects for instance....too much can be frightening..although I don't see anything wrong with taking care of one's self for better self esteem
