There's other people that ate dung and tree branches, but they're all dead, -since they starved to death.
Folks that hate milk and eggs tend to survive!! ... and then have offspring that go "why!! why!! why!!"

We don't really know who was the first person perhaps this stuff started in the stone age so let's call him Ugg. It's about man trying to have control of his food supply and not just rely on what you find. It seems to have worked as farming caught on in a prettty big way!
Wild bird eggs like seagulls would be really useful protein additions to the diet of Ugg. It wouldn't be a huge leap to find some comparatively docile birds that laid tasty eggs (and made great soup) and keep them penned up to provide you with fresh food in the long cold winters.
As humans like all mammals also suckle their young. The mechanism is pretty much the same for most mammalian species just that we can only feed a maximum of two babies at a time not 8!
So it would be totally familiar to Ugg. Cows don't run that fast and are pretty tasty too. I could imagine humans needing to keep a child alive using cows milk. MIlk would be an important and predictable source of protein that meant your kids might make it to adulthood
Domestication of animals could happen pretty quickly if you only breed from docile animals. There was a guy who produced a domesticated "dog" from wolves by selectively breeding only the most docile offspring. It only took about 21 generations.
Good job Ugg chose the egg and not the poop!

In the beginning we observed baby cows drinking from their mommy. Then pervs like John Mark Karr thought they would drink from the nipples. After time people saw they were getting fatter and healthier so they started drinking from the nips as well.
The eggs use to be used in combat between early Indian tribes and as they were being pelted some of the eggs broke and dripped into their mouth. They thought.....mmm, this tastes good. So the started cracking the eggs open and eating them.

People eat anything and everything. Thinking about what we are eating is a rather advanced concept and usually leads to unbalanced reactions. You can read "the man who ate everything" . This is very clear and humorous on the topic.
You may be aware that babies quite readily drink liquid squeezed out of their mother's chest protrusions.
