that he thought that she would pray about, but instead she used the information negatively and now thinks that I'm a negative force in life and began speaking negatively about our relationship and tried to convince him to get rid of me. So he just told me that 3 months ago that we broke up so 1) she can stop talking negatively into our relationship,if you understand the power of words, 2) so he and she can have a peace of mind and 3) so she can talk to him about something else other than me. I was upset because I felt like he was lying so his mother would finally be quiet. We are scheduled to get married next yr so what is she gonna think and say then? I just don't know how long he plans on keeping it from her. And I don't know if I'm overreacting. Should I ever care that his myma don't like me? What would you do?

If you both are sure that you want to get married then it would be a lot easier to try to make amends with his mother... just because you two get married doesn't mean she will stop her negative comments.
You should talk to her in a neutral place like a restaurant, anywhere but her home and talk to her woman to woman. Let her know that we all say things that aren't always appropriate or that we wish we could take back. Life is a learning experience and she isn't always perfect either.

He needs to stick up for you and explain that he does love you. I know its hard and have been in that situation with my husband's mother but he did stand by me and eventually his mother will come to accept you. If not it will just damage the relationship she has with her son. But right now he needs to be strong, be honest and explain this to her.

He doesn't plan on keeping it from her, he likely doesn't have plans to follow through with the wedding. He chose his mom over you, now do yourself a favor and choose the chance at true love with someone else who deserves you.

tell him to tell his mother the truth and to ask her to stop talking badly about you. Not that that will help dol, mothers-in-law are synonymous with bad talk when it comes to their sons' wifes. If i were u I would let her son tell her the truth and just let it be.
