ME! Total fiction, nothing to back it up. It's based on a painting for heaven's sake! What would you rather believe, eyewitness accounts or a theory made up using an uneducated view on a painting? There is no evidence to say mary magdaleneis in the painting at all- they're all guys with the haircut of their day.

Define rubbish. It is a fictional story. As a thriller it is actually quite well written as it is a fast paced book. If you're looking for a good book, try reading something from Jane Austen, Thomas Hardy. The Da Vinci code is smart and this question only proves what an effect it has had. If you're saying it is rubbush because of the idea it presents, you can't call that a valid arguement as it never says that its story is the truth. I think people should keep that in mind. Anyone can use the same arguement that the Bible is only a book too.

The story line wasn't that good but the Da Vinci Code did make large numbers of people think about religion and want to know more. It was a fictionally story but so is religion. Religion is based on belief, belief is not fact, if it was fact it would not be a belief. The opposite of fact is fiction, therefore belief is fiction.
I really enjoyed reading Dan Brown's 'Angels and Demons' brilliant .

ME!!
Although I think the concept is a great idea, how Dan Brown actually carried it out was rubbish. It was poorly written and basically ruined a genius concept for a work of fiction. (Who knows if its true or not? I dont think we ever will. But probably best it stays in the realm of myths and legends)
The film wasnt much better.
I would like to read the book that Dan Brown got the idea off though, Holy Blood Holy Grail is it?

It is meant to be a load of rubbish because it is a fiction thriller. The author has said time and time again that the story is NOT true. The only reason religious people get uptight about it is because it is a fiction thriller based on Jesus.

Are we talking book or film here, because I have not seen the latter?
I carried on to the bitter end with the book because that is what I do. In a long lifetime I have only given upon a book once or twice and that because it was puerile.
But every now and then I would find myself going " Oh Please!', in a sarcastic thought, kind of a way.
It is a mainly well written thriller that spikes the imagination in us all just enough to get us dropping our hold on reality.
Does it deserve all the excess publicity and turgid prose written about it?
I think not!

This is fiction. It's a made up story. It's not pretending to be anything else. "A load of rubbish"? Fiction is not true. Sounds like you may be some conspiracy nut. Get a life!

I think we can safely say that christians know its fiction. I dont think I have found any body that actually believes it has any truth in it. Thumbs up to the Christian Media & Christian Propaganda Thinktanks, done a good job ridiculing this book.
check the answers to this question you wont find many that will say they think it has some truth to it.
Christians leaders know how to manipulate the minds of men.
The real truth is Jesus was a Myth!
And that the Gospels are also the work of FICTION

Dan brown the author is extremly good at bringing facts based on truth and facts based on lies together mixed with a story line to create a really convincing book that naive people take for the absolute truth. FOOLS
