I am very concerned. I know of someone who suffers from bipolar, who clearly displays all of the symptoms and who in approx. the last year tried to kill herself by hacking at her juggler vein in her throat in an attempted suicide. She is now 5 - 6 months pregnant and is telling the guy she met 5 months ago that it is his. Her parents have arranged a wedding for October and its full steam ahead. I have serious reservations about her having this baby and about her ability to have a lasting relationship. She is 21 and has been in and out of psych wards for at least the past 4 -5 years and made a number of attempts at suicide.

I have been BP for 17 years. Many times we marry to escape our illness and family issues. No matter what your friend is doing in life, her illness will not go away. And if her boyfriend is not aware of her illness than he is being trapped into a false relationship. He is thinking that all things can change or be changed. But secret keeping in the end will only hurt the child. I am not sure what you are asking in your question on BP, but treatment and acceptance and education are all a must for person's with the illness and friends and family. Hope this helps. If you would like to chat more feel free to send me a email.

so, you don't want her to kill herself, you just want to hire a guy to vacuum her fetuses brain out the soft part of its skull, killing it instantly? and with all this in mind, you are concerned about her ability to maintain a relationship?
