Excellent question and the truth is; no one knows the answer for sure. It is one of those mysteries God has not fully revealed to us.

The other important point to remember is everything doesn't happen as God "wants."
It's true, the Bible says God does not want
anyone to perish but all to come to know him.

The main reason to pray is not to ask God for something. Prayer is communication with God.

Do you have any close friends or family? Do you only speak to them when you want to ask a question?

Believe it or not, you can carry on a conversation and relationship with the living God. Sure, ask him for things you want, but also pray for other people, get mad at Him and tell him your mad. People who think you can't be mad at God are people who don't really believe God is there. He's not afraid of your anger, cry to Him, thank Him, and praise him.

Predestination or as some would call it, fatalism. Just like praying for someone's soul or at a funeral... it's going to be done as He wants, regardless of prayers and supplications since he knows MORE and he KNOWS ALL... so... why waste the time on one's knees? Like giving thanks to Him ain't gonna make a difference to Him or make him better or anything and He was going to it anyway, so... why the unnecessary gratitude on our part? After all, He's all-powerful as it is plus He's eternal and beyond egoism and doesn't need us feeding His ego.

Or, do we do it to put on a show for others to see how faithful we are and how dedicated and grateful we are...? Isn't that a bit presumptuous on our part and also a bit on the hypocritical side?

The act of prayer is for the reconfirmation or strengthening of our belief, it is to thank and share, sort of like having a diary in which you write things that you can´t talk others about or things you just want to think over, sometimes it is better to say it or write it down instead of just thinking about.

If you pray with your heart with full of feelings... God can even change your faith if he wish, but only if you pray with full of feelings and think only about god while praying..........

God is supposedly all knowing..he knows everything that has happened, is happening and will happen. Do you think a prayer you say will change his mind? If it does then he wasn't all knowing then was he?

Prayer is simply silly superstition.
