Where can I buy a cheap van/combie?

I am about to embark on an aussie adventure, looking for combie, camper or similar. Budget-$1,500 (including reg and RWC.)
Have tried various websites-ie carsales.com, trading post and ebay with no luck.
Any ideas- websites or similar.

Ebay is a good place to start, or you could ask your friends and family if anyone they know is selling one.
