Go to the jewelry store .. they should have something that they can insert in the inside to make it fit properly. Sorry can not think of the name of it.

You have four options that I can think of:
1. Wear it on a chain and deal with the "wow nice necklace" comments from your jealous girlfriends.
2. Put in a safe place and just tell your fiance that if it was lost you would never forgive yourself.
3. Slam your fingers in a car door. The swelling will make the fit more tight. But might be a problem if it swells too much.
4. Get a finger transplant operation with someone with chubby fingers. But once your ring is resized you would have the opposite problem.

Don't waste any time, get it sized immediately for safety and security. It only takes a matter of days to get it done and it is worth it. There are cheap inserts that you can by at jewelry stores but I don't know how effective they are. A few weeks ago, when I returned home from Wal-mart, there was a ring in my bag. I returned it to the store and gave them a description of the cashier who assisted me. Don't let this be you, because someone else just may decide to keep the "found" ring.

What's puzzling is you say you've already told him you want to pick your own, correct? And he said he wants to do the choosing. What did you say after he said this? And why do you think saying it again will have a different result? Here's why I'm asking. Of course you have a right to like your ring! Hopefully, you're going to be wearing it for the rest of your life. But what I don't understand is why this such a tricky issue for so many people. For example, the way it played out with me is I hated my ring (for the same reasons you mentioned hating the photo you saw). So I told him I happily accepted his proposal, but the ring wasn't going to work. No drama, nothing. We went and found one I liked (to this day, we joke about the ring he picked). So my advice is don't dance around it or suggest you go shopping together as an indirect way of hinting. Tell him the truth. The truth is, you're going to be wearing it forever, and you have some definite ideas about what you want. Heck, use your own words you typed. Have you ever said them to him? "this is the only thing I've ever really looked forward to wearing and it means a lot to me that it's right". It's a communication issue.

What do you mean you can't get it resized for 3 weeks? Just take it back to the jewlery store. Let them keep it until it gets fixed that way you wouldn't have to worry about losing it.

Go to one of those cheezy claire's type places in the mall and ask for a ring sizer. They are like, $3 and work like a charm. There are sizer balls that a jeweler can put on the inside of the band that are temporary and more comfortable than the later option.

just take a thread and roll it at the back of the ring, i mean to say that the under side of the ring, which does not appear when you wear a ring. Roll the thread and wear it. If it fits you nicely and does not slip off then its ok. or continue to roll the thread till it fits you. You can use a colour of thread matching the ring colour, or ur skin colour.

There are inserts you can put in the ring. I believe they have them at walmart... you can check jewelry stores. They are clear so no one will notice unless they are looking or you point it out. The only other option that I am aware of is wrapping sowing thread around the ring, that works but it will damage that part of the ring.

Use another ring after the engagement one that is in your right size. It will stop it from falling.

Find some delicate soft yarn to wind around it to the thickness you need and tie a knot. The ring sizers work but they tend to scratch and fall out.
