Eating grass seems to be a normal behavior for dogs even though we tend to think that their diet should consist of other things. There have been a number of studies done trying to link grass eating with illness, vitamin or mineral deficiencies, lack of roughage in the diet and other things ---
all without producing a strong correlation to any particular problem.

Wild dogs and cats probably ingest grass as part of their diet when they eat herbivores who have ingested grass so it may be a flavor they have a genetic predisposition to like.

It's a natural thing for dogs to do if they have an upset stomach or just feel bad, the chlorophyll will help them by settling the stomach and by making them sick so they can get rid of any toxins in their system. Some dogs also just like the taste and will find nice new shoots to eat as they're the tastiest.

Must be something in the grass that is helpful cause they do it then throw it up! Maybe the 'vomiting' up the grass, which may act like a 'nest' or 'trap' will also pick up the dirt, fur and other goodies that bother their tummies.
When puppies chew the grass they are doing it cuz that's what pups do...chew everything. Maybe they find out thru trial and error that it makes them throw up and it sets off a natural instinct.

Some say dogs eat grass just cos it tastes good. Others believe that dogs eat the grass to help cleanse their bowels and for removal of worms -a natural doggy detox!

Yes, it is true. I studied animal care for five years and this is true. The chlorophil does settle their tummies, cleans all the toxins in their tummies and makes them sick. It is only natural.
