All those nurses who say they are been bullied by that one particular nurse should all stand together and make an official complaint to the right department, bullying in any form is appalling, but at your place of work it really just is not on, this nurse has no right whatsoever victimising her fellow colleagues and unless its nipped in the bud now it will just continue and get even worse, the bully obviously has some sort of problem with herself and is reflecting it back at everyone else and she needs to get a grip and grow up, hospitals are a very stressful environment for both staff and patients as it is without her sort adding to it, get the girls together and advice them to stand together over this issue and to make a formal complaint asp.

It isn't as easy as that for some people. I'm glad you manage to deal with her, but how would you cope if she was your boss? It changes the scene somewhat especially if you have to rely upon that person for references for any other job you may want to apply for in the future. One answerer said that they left this behind in grade school. Well most adults believe they have done the same, so it becomes confusing and bewildering to some people when faced with playground bully boy tactics in the work place. It would be good, if your friends can't pluck up your courage to tell this nurse to sod off, for them to start making a note of incidents as they happen, with the date, time, witnesses to keep a record. They should be reporting incidents as they occur to their line managers, as there should be an anti-bullying policy in place. If they are members of a union, then their representatives should be made aware of this situation as they should have anti bullying policies too or as another alternative, if you are UK based perhaps you can suggest they try the National Bullying Helpline.
Bullying in the workplace should be stamped on the moment it starts. If you walk away from a confrontation and feel you have been bullied, then you have been. Your job in hospital is stressful and hard enough as it is without some little hitler making it more so and good for you in dealing with it.

I have noticed that women like to bully other women around more than men do. Now this is just my opinion; but I have always had more problems with women. I think they just get jealous of each other. The fat woman in the office was bullying me around too. She was a fat pig.

Bullies are normally jealous or inferior of the person being bullied. Have you noticed the patterns? The people who are being bullied do they speak up for themselves? This Irish nurse does she have friends? Is her career going well? Think about these questions then you should have your reasons why she bullies.

I would say office politics.
A friend of mine was recently fired after SHE reported that a co-worker THREW something at her!
It was basically her word against the other woman's and since my friend is a part-timer and a college student and the other women is older and has been there a couple of years, they took HER side.
Not always fair consequences when you stand up for yourself. Sometimes you really have to pick your battles.

Yeah, this other guy who was a manager but got demoted keeps on asking me to do things. He doesn't even ask in a nice way either, always negative and I never seen him smile. Even a small task, he would break them down and "assign" to other people. First, I was trying to be cooperative and polite but I guess these people don't see that and keep it coming. Finally I just simply got in his face and tell him not to do that anymore. He didn't take it easily but I told him it was too bad. Anyways, stand up to them but be sure to keep your professionalism and do it in a very dipomatic way. If this guy doesn't stop, I would be very abusive to him verbally.

not every one thinks the same... some people don't answer back because they think the person will report them.. or they may be afraid to speak up for themselves, or it may just be their way of dealing with bullies, not giving the bully any amunition to fire back with..... ask the others if they want you to say something on their behalf, perhaps you could have a word with this bully.....
