A Canon digital Ixus 750 is a very good camera and is within that price range. It has 7.1 MP CCD and 3x optical zoom.

I got myself a Sony cybershot,I'm over the moon with it,its the 3rd digital camera I've had,i had a Olympus which was terrible with batteries i had it changed because i thought it was faulty,if i took about 5 photos the batteries would run out,the same happened with the new one i had,i even got some proper digital camera batteries that cost £5.99 from Sainsburys, and still they went straight away,I then had a Vivitar one that was better but it still did my head in the batteries running out.My Sony cybershot is rechargeable you get the mains adaptor with it and the battery lasts absolutely ages when charged, and the picture quality's fantastic,i wouldn't be without it,the model numbers DSCP200,it also records as well as takes photos,I guarantee if you get one you wont be disappointed.

Id have to say the sony cybershot dsc h5

http://www.rankhour.com/details.php?pid=0751040271103124&caid=2&cbid=9&ccid=62

off the net, its so much cheaper, you can pick one up for around £290 (high street price for the H2 is £350) has 7.2mp, 12x optical zoom.....i think you should invest just a bit more for a quality piece, which will last a few years.....plus its much bigger than the compacts!!! so when you see all those tourists with their compacts, and you pull this one out, watch their faces!!!!

oh and sure....size does matter!!!! ha ha

I would highly recommend looking at the Casio Exilim line of digital cameras:

I use the Exilim S500. It's slim, light-weight, yet metallic in feel, takes great photos, and even high-quality videos.

Well.. you can try the T30, my friend uses one and it has the anti-blurring system. Not a bad investment on Sony

or you can buy a semi-SLR camera like Canon S3IS.. just about the right amount.

Sony Cyber shot. Absolutely great quality pics and easy to use. If you can't afford to buy a brand new one get one on Ebay. xx
