Is a nine-iron good to hit a distance of 22ft.?

are you rolling the ball 22 feet or air you pitching the ball 22 feet? if you are rolling the ball or chipping green side, a 9 iron is a good choice - from 22 feet approaching the green, use your sand wedge or lob wedge so the ball pitches high and lands soft with very little roll so you can attack the pin

I would use my pitching wedge, but that is just because for a while, the only irons I had were an 8 and a 9 iron, so I had to learn to hit pretty far with my 9 iron so I would be afraid I would hit to far with it.

9 irons should be hit for shots from 100 to 130 yards,normally

should do ok...i use a seven or eight iron around the green use them like they are a putter
usually gets alot closer to the pin then a lob wedge

22feet you mean to chip with, I think an 8 iron will work better
