Do you encourage your horse or give him praise when rubbing his ears why do they rub the horses ears?

Some horses like being rubbed behind the ears, but if they grab it and twist it they are trying to steady the horse (from the fround). The best way of praise in my opinion is a rub on the neck- the ears are a bit far to reach to, and pull you too far forward out of the saddle.

I'm not too sure that they rub the horses ears to give him praise because most horses dint like their ears to be played with the ears are probably the most sensitive parts of a horse when a horse swims or gets washed down they will not allow you too get water in there ears.

when a horse is not doing the right thing eg jumping around will being needled the most common thing too do is to grap there ear and twist it that way they think about their ear and stop jumpin

Probably because it keeps them used to having their ears handled. If they haven't had their ears twisted they might like having them rubbed because it's not a place they can itch themselves. I just rub their neck though.
