I am thinking to use this as an alternative for improving the material handling system for a company study. The company can use forklifts or cranes and the products are C purlins (long beams for roofs about 6m) Can anyone explain to me how the forklift or cranes get the set of purlins or stack it in the rack cause I cant seem to imagine how that happens. The crane can get the one on the topmost part but how about if you want to get the one below not the topmost?

You could store the purlins sideways on the racks rather than depthwise as the 1st picture shows. In fact it seems you'd have to; the cantilevers are much shorter than 6m. A fork lift should have no problem lifting one out. Or am I missing an essential fact?
