Someone described himself as "I m a Muslim. I m a logical liberal person who believes in facts. I believe in searching for the right path and that is what my religion Islam teaches me. I donot blindly follow any thing unless someone proves it to me."
It doesn't make sense. If someone doesn't follow blindly or believes in facts, then that means that person can prove that God exists. If any of you have the real facts that God exists please post your answers here. And don't quote from the Quran/Bible cos that is not acceptable fact (scientifically and logically speaking). If you cannot prove existence of God you cannot claim that the Quran comes from God right?
Religions are FAITHS (believing in the unseen and unknown) they cannot be disproved or proven by science or human logic.

In just the same way, you cannot apply logic or scientific theories to prove or disprove whether or not the Bible/Quran is right or wrong.

Muslims: Your answers show that you are already blinded by your own faith to come out with any logical answers. And you don't admit that you can't prove the existence of God. Worse still one of you claim that the Islamic faith can be proven by science and logic. In that case Islam should be renamed Islam Science and not a faith.

I have FINALLY figured out why so many seemingly intelligent people are religious, especially in the three Abrahamic faiths!
It is the law of attrition--everyone who objected or was genetically disposed to object to any or all three of these faiths has been killed by the pious practitioners in prior years! This means that our civilization counts so solidly on accepting these faiths 'as if' they are reporting facts and true events that we get major resistance at even THINKING of asking normal validation questions about them!
For example, it's not usual to burn people at the stake for heresies against the Christian faith. But note that the reason isn't because Christians are too civilized to do such things, it's really because it's just not necessary any more. The Christian headlock on almost all Western cultures and gains on African and Asian ones means that the 'critical mass' point was reached long ago and 'heresies' don't even threaten the Church.
Wow! This came to me as a lightning bolt, with your question! My guess is that you won't get anything but gobbledygook or assertions that faith is the only game in town rather than truly serious answers that dovetail with rationally explaining any of the religious tenets these people hold dear. That's because they KNOW they're in the catbird seat, and no matter how many facts you have on your side, or how much reality you present, they are in the power seat with the numbers to prove it!
Just a real revelation, no doubt!

See, the people who grew up in a Christian society think all religions work the same way Christianity does.
Quran actually tells it's believers that if you have doubts about anything about your faith, go and do the research yourself.
Yes, there is belief and then is it also a lifestyle.
For example, if a Muslim says I pray 5 times a day, it's wrong but if the same person says he/she does yoga for 15 minutes, 5 times a day, no one will have any problems with him/her.
If you search Google, you will see there are sites (mostly from Christians) dedicated to do nothing but bash Islam. Some of them even offer 25,000 bucks if they are proven wrong and when they are proven wrong, guess what happens.... Nothing.

Logically speaking it is quite simple. If there is a creation (Earth), then there must be a Creator (God). Do you believe as you sit in an airplane seat that the airplane that is propelling you at 500mph at 36,000ft randomly evolved into being an airplane? Well maybe not, but what if I told you it evolved into an airplane over millions of years? How about that? Now you must surely believe that the airplane evolved. Can't you? The same is true of the Earth. How can something come from nothing without God?

you are right religions are based on the unseen.
Quran even says so.
002.002
This is the Book; in it is guidance sure, without doubt, to those who fear Allah;
002.003
Who believe in the Unseen, are steadfast in prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them;
Let me answer your answer with a parable.
Suppose you are a detective and you are investigating a murder scene. You see evidences...Lets suppose the evidence is nothing conclusive but everything leads to a certain suspect. for instance, footprints and shoe size on the crime scene match a suspect, An eye witness giving a sketch description, the weapon used is in possesion by the suspect.. would you say that the detective is not using logic in finding the suspect.
Now are you gonna say if you don't see a video or picture you don't believe the suspect did it.
Using logic doesn't preclude believing in the unseen.
Now in god's creation there are 'footprints' and these are what people of faith use to find their lord.
The only question is do we have the right suspect? :)
I know this is a bad analogy of a criminal to a god couldn't think of any good analogies.

but lets take verses from that book and measure them scientifically with that period of time!! with that specific age with all the science that existed back then and when you find it clear that this book speaks of things that there was NO way science back then knew any thing about it then it must be a divine text!!
when the Quran speaks of the creation of humans inside the womb and science back then knew nothing about that what does that tell you?
many other miracles that can be found in the Quran that prooves it's divinity!!
many Atheist/christian and Jewish scientists have acknowledged
this fact.
if you are interested in knowing what those miracles are you can simply do a research and give yourself the time needed to study them scientifically and who knows may be you will be convinced one day!!!
and by the way, there are many ways to prove whether the Quran/bible is true or not and by logic too!! just study those miracles. give yourself time to know if you truly believe in science and not what's easier for you and i guarantee you will be convinced!!
there's NO comparison between the bible and the Quran period.
ever wondered why they hate it so much??!! ;)
peace be with you bro!!!

Islam can be proven with science and logic. However, if you have already made up your mind, then no amount of logical argumentation or scientific evidence will convince you. The third ingredient is heart - it must also be open before belief can enter.
Islam is not a religion just for your mind, although it is quite logical. Islam is a religion designed for your soul's eternal life and salvation. The mind does not comprehend eternity, so how can logical argumentation convince you? You must have an open heart and an open mind and seek the truth yourself. No one will spoon feed you the truth.

Science investigates the observable (or in principle observable) universe. Religion and spirituality are concerned with Truth and with the Transcendent (which is beyond the observable).
The only way to prove a faith is to test its claims in the cauldron of your own life experience. For example, you could start by praying for a year to the god or Avatar or Buddha of your choice deeply, earnestly and persistently for some heartfelt desire for someone else's wellbeing, and observe what happens.

Man makes religions ... Religions do not make a man.
Can any one deny that he or she was created by any other way than the standard biological process of life propagation of a species?
When a Muslim cuts his or her hand the color of the fluid that comes out is exactly same as that when a Christan or any other person of any other faith.
Faiths were created by a few people with vested interested who would gain by separating people. If you read the original books of faith in any religion, you will find that they all say basically the same thing ............. love mankind and nature.

I don't think that most people of faith take absolutely everything they read in holy scripture literally. Religions are spiritual guidelines on how to live and relate to your fellow human beings. All religions have some form of karma, that is the idea that everything we do comes back to us. Whether this occurs instantly, in the next life, or in the afterlife, is not as important as the idea that there are consequences to our actions. How long would it take for the world to come apart if someone could prove without a doubt that this was untrue?

1. Whatever I clearly and distinctly perceive to be contained in the idea of something is true of that thing.
2. I clearly and distinctly perceive that necessary existence is contained in the idea of God.
3. Therefore, God exists.
1. I have an idea of supremely perfect being, i.e. a being having all perfections.
2. Necessary existence is a perfection.
3. Therefore, a supremely perfect being exists.
Those are perfectly sound logical arguments with a premise presented by Rene Descartes. Facts doesn't make truth, belief is more essential than fact in your perception of truth.
