This was what my daughter-in-law did to my sister when she came to visit and I wasn't at home. My sister had never done anything wrong to her. What would you do if you had been me? I didn't find out about this until my sister called me a week later.

She admitted to cheating on my son but I don't know what was happening that day. She is gone now. They are seperated but still married.

Of course a person would normally be offended by such behavior. But here's an interesting point. Before I opened your question to see the "additional details" part, I imagined that you were going to say something about being a Jehovah's Witness and having this happen to you all the time.
You see, some people have gotten used to the fact that it is occasionally necessary to be rude to get rid of someone. Your daughter-in-law has not learned what to say or do in polite circumstances. It's a shame. It's like not being able to employ simple courtesies on the bus because some people will take a word or two as an excuse to chew your ear off about nothing at all for the entire trip. Good manners have been eroded horribly.

What would I do? Okay, if it is my daughter-in-law's house, I'd move out and get my own place. If it is my house, I'd explain to my daughter-in-law (in tones that one would use with a small child) that while under my roof, she will show respect and courtesies to my guests and visitors or she will be asked to leave.

To add to Harry's advise, also tell the daughter in law that if she acts like that again, she'll be the one with the closed door in her face.

well that was rude, however, i dont think you have all the facts. my advice is to stay out of it, whatever its about is between them.
if you want to address anything about this, it may be to suggest that her response could have been a bit more tactful since you are all family, but dont get in the middle of their issue. its between your sister and your daughter-in-law to resolve
