Well, from watching how the most recent and other foreign policy related decisions have been made and acted upon, it seems as if whether or not they would succeed, the way that regime change seems to happen is purely by force and intimidation.
If Bush, say, wanted a regime change there, well, there just might end up being a draft after all, because using military force seems to be the one and only acceptable way in the eyes of the current government. And AFAIK., the Military must be spread very, very thin right now as it is.
Now, the government(s) worried about Iran and it's ability to become a nuclear power, North Korea keeps making nuclear threats, there's the stuff with Israel and Hezdo-Allah, etc..etc.. etc.. I don't know if they see Syria as a priority right now. But if so, surely it would involve military force.

Who are you to change any sovereign state's system? Try to clean off your own first.Don't throw people with stones, when your own homes are made out of glass.
