Everything evolved from the ocean so why are there still things there? Reptiles evolved into birds and we still have reptiles.

Humans are apes. The most recent common ancestor of both humans and chimpanzees was approximately 6 million years ago.
The way to understand this is to remember that living organisms are in a state of constant change - It's not that evolution *can* occur, but that it *must* occur, simply because there is no mechanism in living organisms to ensure perfect, flawless reproduction for ever.
Suppose you could study a population of chimpanzees in the jungle, on a timescale of millions of years. Clearly, each individual only lives a few decades, so the population is constantly being succeeded by individuals which are different from their parents - and remember, this is *inevitable*. It can't *not* happen. All the time this population is inter-breeding, the genes are getting mixed together, and only genes which work well with all other chimpanzee genes will tend to get passed down to successive generations (because individuals with genes that don't work well together will tend not to reproduce).
However, suppose that circumstances arise which cause a group to become genetically isolated from other chimpanzees. This could be as a result of an accident of geography (e.g. an impassable river) or breeding preference or simply great distance. There will develop two distinct groups of chimpanzees which can never again exchange genes, because they have become different enough that mating will not produce viable offspring. This is what biologists define as speciation - i.e. the population has forever split into two distinct groups. Biologists have observed many instances of speciation, so there is no doubt that it occurs.
Assuming that both groups continue to survive, it is again *inevitable* that they will diverge genetically - There is no possible way that both groups, isolated and independent from each other, can change in exactly the same ways, and the longer they continue to breed, the more different they will become. Over millions of years, given that the rate of genetic change via mutation tends to remain fairly constant, the two groups will become as distinct as today's chimpanzees and humans are from each other, and from their most recent common ancestor.
All this is based on what we *know* is true - it's not supposition or guesswork, and remember it's not just possible, it absolutely *has* to happen, because there is no mechanism in biology to make reproduction a 100% perfect, flawless process.
Hope this is a useful explanation.

Humans didn't come from monkeys. Humans and monkeys have a COMMON ANCESTOR and both developed into what they are today. Our ancestors were not the same as today's monkeys.

because we evolved from a particular species of monkey. yes, i am a christian, however, the Bible may state that humans were made from dust, but many things in the Bible is metaphorical such as the adam and eve snake thing. we came, ultimately, from a single celled organism. now they didnt have such concepts way back when the Bible was created, so how does one say that we came from something small? what was the smallest thing they knew? dust. over time that "dust" evolved to what we are today.

Because HUMANS did not come from monkeys. We evolved from an early 'realative'. Stop reading "The Truth of EVOLUTION" By Benny Hinn and the like

According to evolutionists, it was only one group of monkeys (although they prefer calling this ancient monkey a "common ancestor) that evolved into human beings.
But, they can say whatever they want and it won't make it true. They want us to believe that all the scientists agree with them, but that's a lie. Here are two good websites I know of (there are more though) that give lots of good scientific evidence for creation:
http://www.trueorigin.org
http://www.icr.org
Oh, and in reading the other comments the argument that "we have 99% the same DNA as monkeys" doesn't hold water. We also have 99% of the same DNA as mice and in fact have 50% of the same DNA as bananas -- and nobody's suggesting we evolved from bananas! The reason for all of this common DNA is actually because most of that DNA deals with protein synthesis -- a necessarry requirement for all living things to be able to survive.

humans were a different form of monkeys. They say humans are about 75% the same as a monkey but you are 100%

For all of you who believe that we are the one the only humans and that suddenly 2 clay objects "poofed" into existence, then why are you so dead set against incest? (not that I'm for it in the least) If ONLY Adam and Eve had children, then aren't we all each others' Grandma's uncle's brother's sister's neice's son? EWW!!
Neither has been proven because neither can. HOWEVER- we have proven that incestual relations cause severe mental & physical retardation. So if the "creation" story is true, imagine what the early humans IQ tests must have been...

humans dont 'come from' monkeys, they share a common ancestor, in other words, Humans and Apes are both Primates, and humans are animals, too, just like apes
People didnt like hearing that back in the day, humans liked to think they were set apart from the animal kingdom, and therefore could lord it over animals. That led to the whole "Man comes from monkeys" lie.

"Humans and other apes are descended from a common ancestor whose population split to become two (and more) lineages. The question is rather like asking, "If many Americans and Australians are descended from Europeans, why are there still Europeans around?" Creationists themselves recognize the invalidity of this claim." - http://www.talkorigins.org
Us and chimpanzees have a common ancestor. This shows in our DNA, as we share roughly 99% of it in common. We share a little less in common with the bonobos and a little less with gorillas.
You show that you haven't read the first bit about evolution by even asking such a dumb question. Most of us atheists can run circles around you in our knowledge of the buybull...won't you take a little time to learn about modern science?

It depends on your definition of "monkey". If you mean all primates, then we haven't "come from" monkeys because we "still are" monkeys...
We came from "lower order primates". Chimpanzees, Gorillas and Orangutans also came from lower order primates, but along a different branch of evolution. They are very distant cousins to us (99% genetically identical).
But evolution doesn't stop a species from living side by side with it's ancestor. In fact, we probably lived along side our immediate ancestors for thousands of years before we were alone on our branch of the evolutionary chain. It is known that Cro-Magnons lived along side Modern Homosapiens for a time.
