What my belief is: We are all dead, right now.
You know when you die you life is supposed to flash before your eyes? Well, I believe that you reliving your life again and God is standing just behind you, out of site.
He is looking at the decisions you have made and giving you a chance to change them.
If you know this, maybe your life will turn out differently.

I will not know that I am dead any more than I know what life was like 10 years before I was born. I cannot experience non-existence. It is unknowable.

There are many ways but the one that comes to mind is that if they do an autopsy and get the chain saw running down your "gut", and you don't blink that is one possibility.
I have passed out three times due to low blood pressure, and sugar was out of "whack" If dying is like that then there is nothing too it, as I don't even remember getting up off the couach.

Well, in a spiritual sense, your sould will live on after your body perishes. But if there is no such thing as a soul or afterlife, then I think we will just decompose into dirt and provide for the land. I don't really know.

If you were in a fatal accident, you will have a split second to be scared and think 'Oh God I'm gonna die' or something. Even if you didn't, it would be pretty obvious- no matter what the afterlife's like, it would be very different to this.
