What would the world be like if the U.S had adopted the Muslim faith?

Both Christianity and Muslim are middle eastern faiths.... So what if the US, or Europe, had adopted some other faith.. ?

Just about the same as it is now. At the levels countries are run, religion is not a reason, it is a tool.

Anyway, even with a religion that instructs them to turn the other cheek, the americans are everywhere in the world with their guns and bombs, where would they be with a religion that demanded a hand for a hand, eye for an eye?

Nuking everyone else, probably.

Anything really. I wouldn't go as far as to say we would turn out like one of the more troubled Middle Eastern countries; Then again, the Muslim faith(from what I know) would have influenced our government greatly.

Some people relate the word Muslim to terrorist or other negative connotations. That wouldn't be the case. The Islamic religion is intense and very firm in it's belief.

2) instead of red, white & blue, the official color of the US flag will be green & white
3) Lady Liberty will be brandishing a sword instead of torch

5) there'll be a mosque on the Liberty island
6) New Yorkers will converge on Central Park for Friday prayers
7) Subway trains will come at a halt five times a day for prayers
8) There'll be no dropping of the ball on New Year's eve.

10) Imagine George Bush, US president, wearing thobe 1 ft above his ankle!

14) Forget about St. Patrick's cathedral, it will be become Islam's holiest shrine!
15) Riyal or Dinar will be the official monetary currency of the world

19) You will be awaken in the morning by an Imam's voice over the loudspeaker calling for prayer

Most of these countries actually today are not faith related. They try to teach an atmosphere of religious tolerance and freedoms. Same as some of the better predominantly Muslim faith countries do. In my opinion one country that is very intolerant of other faiths is Israel such that to some lesser or greater extent they bring a part of their problems upon themselves.

Both religions are monotheistic religions that calls for the ones of god and it all came from the Levant.
I do think that the source of both religions are coming from the one god that we should worship, the geography of religions are irrelevant as ADAM were (Made) born in heaven and then brought to earth, so if we adopt to a certain faith because its American made or Chinese then my preference will be God made faith.

Honestly what have muslims given society, what have they invented or done for the world other than live like tramps and take take take. Look at the countries that actually follow their laws, women are raped and stoned to death.

Islam (like christianity) if followed properly would have brought many benefits. For one, the USA wouldn't have been allowed to use the Atomic bomb to kill thousands of innocent people, the tragidy in Vietnam would have been avoided and more recently, the USA and Briton wouldn't have been allowed to invade Iraq ULLEGALLY.

Islam is a beautiful religion and I would urge people just to read a little more about it, the word Islam means peace but unfortunately a lot of innocent people are killed in the name of Islam. Islamically, you're not allowed to kill any innocent people, but just like in any other faith, you're absolutely allowed to defend your honor, county and faith.

The world would be REALLY BORING. We would live under a theocratic tyranny and would be extremely depressed and terrorized, always vigilant for the mind police and clothing death squads. We would live in a world of absolute intolerance and scientific persecution. The world economy and world of scientific discovery would stagnate except for weapons of mass destruction.
Of course the same would be true under totalitarian Christian rule under the likes of Jerry Fallwell and Pat Robertson.
The American democracy that we love would be over, dead.
I will kill and die to preserve our democracy and the right of everyone to worship as they choose.
