I'm 18 and I've developed a big crush on my friend (of two years) who is 25. I want to tell him, but I think he'd probably assume I'm too young to date.
So guys, be honest, would you date an 18 year old? Or would you just automatically think she's too young and immature? And don't say "I'd date one because they're easier to sleep with", because I am not like that at all.

Well, it depends on a lot of variables. If you are mature and know what you want, and we get along well, why not?

Yes why not the difference between 18 and 25 is only 7 years and guys with 25 years old would find the age very suitable to them.

I would if I knew her. And not because "they're easier to sleep with". Actually 18 year olds, from my vantage points, are huge basket cases.
If he's known you for two years he is the better judge than we are. I would say that maybe <10% of 18 year olds are up to the maturity level that I would desire, but then again 10% of 18 year olds is still a lot.
And FYI guys aren't nearly as sensitive to age as girls are, at least at younger ages, if you're of fertile and legally acceptable age (18-40ish) and younger than the guy, chances are he won't care--we've been biologically programmed like that.

Absolutely, I'm just a little younger than 25 and I'm not the sort of guy who's only interested in a girl based on if I can get her to sleep with me.
I think if you're already friends then you must share a lot in common and be of a similar maturity level. Hope it works out!

Well im not a guy, but I thought id comment on this one anyways.
Im 19 and my husband is 36. Yeah lots of guys date younger women. 18 is not to young to date and it is legal for you and him to date now that you are 18.

I'm 19, and I'll tell you that guys who date younger girls, like much younger are pervs to the max. They'd date a 14 year old if they could without get arrested. But you can't get them in trouble because you're an adult, that's the only reason that they like you... sorry it's true, and he isn't different, and he isn't special. I'm a guy. I know. for an 18 year old, don't go more than 3 years up. for a 25 year old, don't go more than 4 years down.
