in some PIC, there are AVdd and AVss (analog Vdd and Vss) pins. what's their function?there has to be something that distinguished them to the conventional Vdd and Vss, right?
how to connect them?
thanks

They are basically the same (AVdd Vdd), the "A" refers to analog. Usually the two are separated by some filtering, but the voltage is the same. The AVdd voltage would be used to power the analog portion of the part, for instance an A/D converter, and the Vdd to power the digital portion. The reason is to keep the noise from transfering from one to the other.

vdd is the supply voltage usualy between 2.5-16 and vss is ground. when u use analoge to digital convertor you have to power on avdd and avss .but i suggest you always read their manuals you can find everything.
