so i have found homes for all my kittens, but this guy i know his cat just had kittens and they are 3 weeks old, i was just wondering if anyone in minnesota in the twin cities area wants a cat, i told him i would find them homes because he said if he cant find homes for them he is going to take them out back with his 22. he has 6 and they are all female, but i dont know what they look like, if i have to i will take them all and find them homes from my house, but i cant justify shooting 6 kittens. can any one help by taking one?

Hi there...the kittens are much too young to be separated from the mother cat. They need to be at least 6 weeks to guarantee their survival as they need her colostrum milk to build a stronger immune system. Ask him if he could wait another 3 weeks and you'll definately be able to find homes for them by then.
If he doesn't want to wait, then I'd suggest contacting the local humane society/shelter or a no kill cat shelter in your area and let them know about the circumstances. They may get involved and pick up the kittens and take the mother so that they have a chance. Or at least take the kittens with the mother to your place until they are at least six weeks old then return the mother back to this guy.
If he is willing to wait try listing the kittens now under Craigslist :http://geo.craigslist.org/iso/us/mn. Find the nearest city in this page, then go the Community section and look for the subsection Pets to post your free ad there. It's a free online classified to use.

Just leave them to get along in there own time. Its strange for them both, a new kitten has been brought into the males house and the female kitten is in a strange environment. Before you know it they will both be friends and playing with each other, just have to give them time. Aslong as they are both healthy then you have nothing to worry about :-) I have a 6 year old cat and 3 months ago rescued a 3 year old cat. They are JUST beginning to totally tolerate each other now, there has been a lot of hissing and pawing but they are used to each other now. The advantage you have is that they are both kittens and will soon be playing with each other, rather than fighting. Good luck with your new children Vicki UK

You should immediately contact local animal control and the police. Shooting cats, dogs or any other animal without a hunting license is illegal. Fines and possible imprisonment can be imposed on anyone who would do this.

You know, allot of people in that area, and the country do this, I hate it! I wish they had an ASPCA there. Post a sign in school and hope that will help. make sure their family don't do what that guy wants to do. If it is within city limits, it is illegal to fire a gun. Good Luck kid. I live in Indiana.

Those kitties are lucky that you know about them. I thank you, my kids thank you, those kitties thank you, my cats thank you, etc...I know there are a lot of irresponsible people out there, but it's nice to know at least one litter will be saved. Thank you, sweety. You have a very good heart! Are you going to be a veterinarian when you grow up? (I live in Hawaii, so I can't help, either!) =(
