If she's only a year older then you, I don't understand why you are worried. If she likes you she's not going to compare you to the guys her own age or older then you. My husband is almost 10 years older then me and we've been together for 11 years. Our age difference has come up a few times, but minor things like do you remember in the 70's... I had to remind him "I was a baby in the 70's" sometimes I think he forgets the age gap. Don't worry about the little things... just be yourself and show her you can be a better boyfriend then someone who is older.

Why not? There is nothing wrong with your situation remember that in a relationship the main course is trust, respect and love. It does not ask for anything else.
You know you are actually in a better position considering that you are already in high school when you get into your current relationship. My own experience which is quite similar to you, only that I was still in my last year in elementary. One year before reaching high school when I experience it with a girl who is already a graduating student in High School.
Based on my experience, your doubts is actually true, however, if your girlfriend truly loves you she will support you all the way. But it does not mean that she will stay away from her peers but she will see to it that you will blend with her peers.
You don't have to be concerned with your doubt when you are hanging with them just be yourself and eventually you will just notice that you are welcome in their group. Age does not actually matters in terms of hanging out with friends, its actually respect that is the common language.
So your fear of being behind is just a thing in your mind. Be confident, be yourself, that is the best asset that you will be able to bring to your girl's peers. Good luck.

My question, do you love this girl?? If you loves this girl truly, then why are you bothered with it? Why do you care on what others will think?? Love is not divided by age... When you love somebody, it doesnt matter who old he/she is... because you love the person... you wont care what he/she wears or how bad he/she look like on that day because to you he/she will always look beautiful in your eyes because you love him/her. If you really loves this girl and would want to go on with a relationship with her, i suggest you to stop worrying about all the unnecessary matters... dont think so much about it whether if your are behind in learing and life... if she really loves you too... you will always look sweet and perfect in her eyes... I don't know it depends on how much older than you she is. Since she is only 1 year older the age difference shouldn't matter.
