Sure, the blanket answer should be "let fate decide", "be yourself", yadda yadda...
But in this case, I am an American engineer working in Costa Rica and have never been immersed in Latin culture before. And to really make things difficult, alot of men come here from the States to be complete pigs with the beautiful women who seem to be everywhere. I have found someone incredible, she is everything I could ever want in a woman and more. And she feels the same attraction.
My question: What can I do to NOT screw this up and appear like every other chauvenist from my country? I know nothing about the dating ettiquette or what might or might not offend her. It's cheesy I know, but I could really use some input on this. Oh wise denizens of Yahoo's caverns of knowledge!

You have to be yourself. Don't try to fool her by pretending to be someone you're not on a daily basis. If she likes who you are then you have it made.
My wife is Costa Rican and we have been married for 23 years.

The attraction depends upon many psychological & physiological factors. However,why not break / forget all the r7ules & trust your first sight ! If anyone clicks you at first sight, most probably she is for you.
