I can eat 5000 calories a day and sit on the computer all day or eat 2000 and play basketball all day and either way I never gain nor lose weight.
I am five-ten a hundred and forty pounds.

Any reason why this would happen?

you have a high metabolism rate... this rate will likely change as you get older.... though some folks enjoy having a high metabolism all their lives... for most, though our metabolism rate slows as we get older, and we start packing on the pounds...

Imbalances. If you ate 1500 calories a day and played baseball all day...then you'd lose weight but it takes time. If your calorie intake is exactly equal to your calorie usage...you'd lose no weight but you'd gain if you increased the calorie intake and lose if you increased the calorie usage.
