Sometime in the 1970's, I read a book called "Four Arguments for the Elimination of Television" written by an ad executive under the name of Jerry Mander... It was very well written--a fun read--with very convincing argumentation.
I didn't go near a TV for years after I read that.
It's available at Amazon.com
Anybody who is either pro- or anti- TV should read it. (Or have it read to them, if they're illiterate video junkies.)
