Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
It is one of my favorites!

I think it points out to the reality of heaven and that it is eternal relative to our sojourn in this world which is temporary. Our effort in this world should accommodate the values that are associated with heaven. And to guide our journey in life on the basis of the light that God has given us, love and concern for justice. It is a caution for us to make sure we have this light of God in us as the contrary to it would be the light of darkness...after all, it is our values which guide our steps in life.

the first scripture is telling you that no matter what you have accumalated on this earth it will do you no good in heaven.it is telling you that the things of god are more important than those things.there is nothing wrong with having things ,but if you treasure them more than god it will do you no good.it means it is more important for you to seek the things of god which is his word.once you seek his face read his word study the word it is more profitable for you than all the riches of this world.the second scripture is telling you that jesus is the light if you dont recognize him as the light whoa to you.you will miss out.i pray that he is your lord and savior.amen

Please cite your verses: book, chapter(s), verse(s). Its seems you are quoting Matthew 6:19-24 (I added the last verse since it completes the thought). Actually it is part of the sermon on the mount,Matthew 5:3 to 7:26.
You can see a similar passage in Luke 12:22-34. While it is nice to quote verses, maintaining context is also nice. Jesus is answering questions, and one of the question he answers in Luke 12 goes from verse 22 to 40.
I love your quoted verses because Jesus said them. For me to totally understand them I had to read Jesus' complete teaching.

The bible is nothing more than a collection of myths. This one in particular is definitely not impressive.

Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things.

the first paragraph means don't be so materialistic.
the second one means be optimistic.
that's all... nothing supernatural about it.
the bible is fiction. not to be taken literally.
